How 'bout some free money!? Trace is registered with several programs that will provide the school with much needed funds, and we, as parents, don't have to do anything extra! Sound good? Just:

A School of Arts! Trace is a unique elementary school: We have a full time drama teacher and full time music teacher. In addition, our school boasts a dance teacher, band & orchestra directors and an art teacher. Isn't that fabulous? Studies show children are better thinkers with early exposure to the arts, and we at Trace already knew that! If you'd like more information on what is available at Trace, please call the school at 408.535.6257. A Note From Principal Martinez Hello, PTO Families, One of the best things about Trace is the support from the parent community! You have so many activities and ideas for making the school the best it can be. Many of the PTO plans are events that promote asset building in children. One example of this is the Holiday in the Garden. This community event is something that builds respect and regard for the neighborhood and school and contributes to a child feeling more connected. Another example is the Box Top collection. Every child can participate in giving to the school in this way and feel good about the contribution. In addition, when families congregate at a pizza place for a fundraiser, the message to the child is that the family and the school are working together. It is my plan to meet with your co-presidents, Jennifer & Vanessa, on a regular basis to discuss events, share thoughts, and collaborate on projects for Trace. I welcome any imput from all of you throughout the year. Finally, I just want to let you know that even though I have been at Trace for a short time, it already feels like "home" due to the warm reception I have had from the Trace community. Thank you,

Parent Communication with SJUSD Personnel
In an effort to promote easier parent communication within the district community, we have established a way for parents to register their email address with the district's Technology Department. This will enable us to identify parent emails that need to get through our security spam blocker. If an email is being blocked, or if you want to access our district email system, you can follow these steps: We want to encourage parent communication and hope this is a helpful process for our parents. We hope this helps to open the communication lines! Call the school office if you are still having difficulty after following this process. Also, PLEASE NOTE: To change address, phone numbers, or other information in your child's file, please contact the District Office at 535.6000. And to report absences, please call the Attendance Hotline: 535.6583
