Tips:

For best practices, be sure to look at adjacent industry standards (ie: shipbuilding may have something that will better target your respiratory needs than general industry does, etc.). Be sure to look at OSHA's website for additional information; rules, proposed guidelines, notices, and letters of interpretation that can often shed a great deal of light on how you understand the standards and comply with them.

A good federal search tool is located on the Government Printing office page at:
http://www.gpoaccess.gov/cfr/index.html.
At that location you can search by section number or title. For example:
If you search for "29 CFR 1910.108" you will find SubPart H on Hazardous Materials -- or search "SubPart H" on "Hazardous Materials" you will find "29 CFR 1910.108."

A similar search tool is available for California regulations at the Legislative Counsel's page, located at:
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html.

For information on other states, try using "State Information's" shortcut list, located at:
http://www.stateinformation.com.
