| About Us
We are committed to utilizing all aspects of the Toastmasters program to improve communication and leadership skills for our members and the community at large. Our diverse membership encompasses all levels of experience, from new members to Distinguished Toastmasters, as well as past and present Founder's District leaders. We are open to all interested parties, and have historically included many members from the environmental community, including those associated with our sponsoring organization, the Orange County Sanitation District, as well as the Orange County Water District and Municipal Water District of Orange County. Click on the Calendar section for meeting information, or contact us through the Officer / Contact section, or E-mail at bottom right.

Toastmasters History In October 1924, a group of men assembled by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley met in the basement of the YMCA in nearby Santa Ana, California, forming a club "to afford practice and training in the art of public speaking and in presiding over meetings, and to promote sociability and good fellowship among its members." The group took the name "Toastmasters." Watermeisters is proud to be located in Founder's District (see link at left), and to help carry on Dr. Smedley's legacy.

Watermeisters History Watermeisters first met in July 1992 in Room 101 of the Municipal Water District of Orange County, with 20 eager prospective members and two Mentors. Today we meet "just around the corner" at the Orange County Sanitation District, and count among our membership several former Division and Area Governors, and District officers!
