Lita went to Mexico with hopes of wrestling. While she was there she saw superstars such as Essa Rios, Tajirri, Chris Jericho, Val Venis and Super Crazy perform. During her stay she worked for a few local promotions, MCW, NWA and EMLL. Lita met the Hardy Boyz while working for NWA Mid-Atlantic, who knew they would become a famous team.

1999 spring Lita went and worked in ECW under names Angelica and Miss Congeniality. Her first paperview was Heat Wave. Rob Van Dam told Lita about a training camp, The Funking Conservatory. The leader treated her like the guys and Lita graduated in August. They didn't stop though, the leader sent in tapes to WWF(then) to see if Lita could be hired.

Lita started her WWE career alongside Essa Rios. She was told to be like Essa, mimicking moves and style. The debuted Feb. 2000. Soon Lita became too popular and she separated from Essa and combined forces with the Hardy Boyz. Together they formed Team Extreme. At 2000 Fully Loaded, Team Extreme took on T&A & Trish in the 1st ever 6-person Intergender tag team match. The cool thing about the match was the men and women could wrestle eachother. Lita won the match with a moonsault. The following Raw Lita teamed with Rock and they defeated Triple H and Trish.

Lita for the 1st time on August 21, 2000 won the WWE Women's title from Stephanie McMahon. Despite Triple H and Kurt Angle at ringside Lita won the match thanks to Special Guest Ref, the Rock. Lita defended the title in several kinds of matches, Bra and Panties, Triple Threat, Hardcore, ect. She defeated women like Ivory, Trish, Jaqueline, etc. Finally on November 2, 2000, in a Fatal 4 match Lita lost the title to Ivory. Chyna won the title at Wrestlemania and at Judgement day Lita challenged for the title. Unfortunatlly she lost to a Powerbomb. Shortly after the Invasion took place. In walked Torrie Wilson and Stacy Kiebler from WCW. Since Chyna ha left WWF, the 2 new main women(Trish and Lita) took on Torrie and Stacy in the 1st ever B&P tag team match. Too bad for the newcomers Lita & Trish won the match.

After the Invasion Lita found herself in the middle of the Hardy Boyz feud. At the Vengeance paperview Lita was Special Guest Ref in the Matt vs Jeff match. Even though Jeff won the match it wasn't over because Lita counted and didn't notice Matt's foot on the ropes. Matt was upset and challeged Lita&Jeff to a handicap match. Lita seemed to have the match won when she hit the Litacanrana but Matt used her pants for the win. Soon enough the team was back together at both the Royal Rumble and No Way Out paperviews. The Dudleys had alligned themselves with Stacy Kiebler and the trios were in a fued. Jazz had arrived and captures the Women's title, so at Wrestlemania 18 Lita and Trish challenged for the title in a Triple Threat match. Lita lost the match.

While filming on the set of Dark Angel Lita broke her neck and was out of action. She became a Heat Comentator. While she was gone Victoria came and took over Lita's spot in the Trish feud. Lita was fired though because she was harrased by Erci (in Stroyline). After and year and 5 months Lita came back to Trish's aid who was being assaulted by Gail and Molly.

The next while Lita did many things, at Survivor Series Lita challenged Gail for the title and lost. On raw roulette Lita and Victoria had the first ever women steel cage match which Lita lost. Trish and Lita teamed against Jericho and Christian in 2 battle of the Sexes matches which the men won.

2004 became a weird year for Lita. One thing was the unwanted advances toward Lita by Kane and another was several failed attempts for the title. Matt hardy had returned to Raw to protect Lita from Kane. In the storyline Lita became pregnant with Kane's child and then had to marry him after Matt lost the till death do us part match at Summerslam. She lost her child though thanks to Gene Snitsky. Lita then started two feuds. 1 with Gene and a reborn fued with Trish. December 4 on Raw Lita won the Women's title for the second time by defeating Trish. Unfortunatly she lost the title at Revolution when she tore her ACL.

For the first time on May 16, 2005 Lita turned heel. She became caught up in the Love Triangle with Edge and Matt. In reality Matt claimed that Lita had cheated on him with his best friend Edge. Matt posted comments all over his website about the situation. Lita still managed to stay in the business by continuing her fued with Trish. Lita trained Christy Hemme for a match against Trish at Wrestlemania (Christy lost). Edge was Lita's boyfriend on Raw and he helped her get away form Kane. The 2 fueded but the crowd kept chanting you screwed Matt. I July 2005 Matt came back and started a feud with Edge. On October 3, 2005 though, Lita helped Edge win a loser leaves Raw Money in the Bank ladder match. Matt left Raw and went to Smackdown.

Recently Lita has returned to the ring. She is currently wrestling as a heel against wimpy Maria. She participates at House Shows as well teaming with various women. She first participated in a mixed tag match, teaming with Edge against Cena and maria. A few weeks later she went 1 on 1 with Maria and defeated her.
