It's August... and, it's Fig Fest time again! Before our luncheon, eight of us met at FSU for a "figgin' good time." We had our picture taken with the big fig. We sampled wonderful fig dishes... The lamb with fig balsamic from Yosemite Ranch/Love & Garlic was fantastic! The hot Italian sausage with fig salsa from Gigi's... wow! Fig and walnut cookies, two kinds of fig ice cream, fig bread pudding, several fig brucettas, french toast, pizza... it was all good. Some of us even learned how to play a new "ball" game!
Lady Chelle chose to host at Marie Callendars (cuz' it is close to FSU; and, after the Fig Fest... a salad sounded good!) More luncheon details to come! In attendance: Barbara, Beverly B, Edie, Heidi, Imogene, Victoria L, Sharon B, Sharon, Chelle.

It was great seeing everyone again! Vivacious Victoria hosted at Yosemite Falls, and we had one of our larger gatherings again. The "stars and stripes" theme was fun and welcoming. Wow! Celebrating our sixth year together... Our future is so bright we gotta' wear shades! And, thanks to Sassy Siren Colleen, we now have the glittery kind! The Royal Bunco Divas were laughing, and betting, and havin' a jolly ole' time at the Condo at Huntington Lake! Friday began at Table Mountain and ended with fondue night with wine/chocolate tasting. Saturday was PJ day! We started out with a game of R-L-C (oh, wait... make that three games!) Congrats to Chris, Barbara, and Shirley for their wins. CoQ Sharon's famous taco bar began our Bunco play. Martini tasting and a funn viewing of 'Mama Mia' rounded out the day. Thanks to Leslie for driving up on Saturday for Bunco. We look forward to Shirley N and Angie joining us as 'Subs.' Don't miss next year's funn!

Countessa Sharon and Princess Beverly did a great job hosting this month at Casa Corona! Our gathering was a little smaller, perhaps due to our changing the date to 'make room'¯for Easter next week. The room was festive all decked out with May flowers. Our table favours were painted flower pots with pinwheels and notepads... great job! Beverly and Sharon also had a flower quiz for us. Mardi Gras was the theme of this month's luncheon at Livingstons. Countess Chris did a great job decorating with purple, gold, and green beads! The purple and red feather pens (our table trinket) were a lot of funn! Chris entertained us with a pot pourri of games ~ Mardi Gras trivia, a word brain teaser,¯and guessing the number of beads in a jar. Thanks Chris! Great job Victoria and Elizabeth! Tony Romas was the Red Hatters place to be. First time we shared a restaurant with another Fresno chapter! CoQ Sharon and Lady Chelle filled in as host this month at Tahoe Joe's... Her Highness Barbara was feeling a little 'under the weather.'¯ (And, with the 'Big Cruise' coming up needed some recuperation time.) We jotted down what we appreciate about our fellow Z&R Sisters, with CoQ Sharon typing up 'We Appreciate You'¯certificates. That was kinda funn! Our Sixth Annual CoQueens' Event was held at The Public House this year. Vivacious Victoria was honored as our 2008 Flamboyant Grand Dame Award Winner. She was given a sparkly bracelet reflective of the shining, giving and growing friendship she has shared with us. Of course, we held our annual tea cup exchange. The stories were touching; the tea cups, beautiful; and, the laughter was 'loud.' (The castle-like setting has castle-like acoustics.) This year we also held a cookie exchange. Everyone brought their favorite cookies and recipes. Mmmm! Most of you all did a great job... Lady Chelle had to stop by the bakery cuz' her cookies didn't look pretty.¯ (There is just something about burnt-on-top-raw-in-the-middle, broken, sad-looking cookies that were not 'festive'!) CoQueen Sharon and Lady Chelle had Christmas baskets for each (with a Holiday tea towel for lining and a big red cellophane bag and ribbon to wrap it all up with). Lady Elizabeth, what a great job you did! Outside the weather was cold and rainy... inside Yosemite Falls... it was cozy! The rustic atmosphere of the restaurant, the arrangements of fall flowers (arranged by Elizabeth) and the ceramic turkeys... one just knew Thanksgiving was around the corner. It's September and we're baack... at Bedrosians Armenian Deli! Sassy Siren Colleen did a fantastic job! You were so creative with the chocolates and bookmark! CoQ Sharon, Princess Bev (and daughter), Vivacious Vickie, and Ladies Imogene, Barbara C (and daughter), and Chelle are having a GREAT time learning to Bellydance! Learning those 'U's and 'W's... walking like an... Egyptian (Zombie)... and the 'camel-thing'¯ that Lady Chelle isn't quite coordinated enough to do. Looks like we will have to grab dinner at the Mediterranean one of these Fridays!

CoQ Sharon, Countess Chris, and Ladies Belva and Chelle had a figgin' good time at Fig Fest 2008. We sampled some wonderful treats made from figs (like the fig chili and cornbread). Belva reported she heard a 'radio caller' talking about seeing a 'Big Fig' driving along the streets of Fresno!
Our luncheon was held at North India Grill... and, we got to try a whole new cuisine. We welcomed a new member, Imogene ~ WooHoo! We look forward to knowing you! (In fact, she is our next highlighted member.) Grand Diva Nancy was our highlighted member this month. It turns out we didn't know as much about her as we thought... Imogene's intuition scored her the high points! Congrats to Beverly for taking home two hat boxes from our Raffle. CoQ Sharon did a great job as last-minute-fill-in-host! Fuzzio's was a funn place to gather outside under the misters. It was almost like being at the zoo. (Only I am not sure if we were on display... or those walking by were.) We celebrated Beverly's B-day... which fit right in with the gift-wrapped table trinkets (nail polishes, by the way)! Countess Chris was our hosted a great Mother's Day celebration at Fresno Breakfast House. The garden setting and the corsages (made by Chris) was so femininely festive! Chris challenged us with a TV-Moms quiz. Nancy was our Dollar Raffle winner and chose a bottle of B*tch wine. Heidi became our 'Wild Child' and second Raffle Drawing winner of a Lolita wine glass. Victoria was honored with a R.H.S. 10th Birthday Celebration gift for attending the most Z&R luncheons! Our 5th Saturday 'Soiree'¯was a absolutely day of funn!!! The Wine Tasting/Appetizer Party held at CoQ Sharon's was an afternoon of true Sisterhood... what a great time we had! Great choice, Victoria... the Mexican food at Agave Grill hit the spot! It was all deco'd out with 'a wee bit of the green.'¯It was a very funn and festive day! A Royal Salute to our month's host Empress Edie (along with the help of Princess Beverly)... I hear ya' did a grr-ea-aat job! And, our table trinkets were a treasure trove of hearts~ candies, ceramic hearts on ribbon, candles and more! The warmth of Sisterhood was felt at The Spaghetti Factory (tho' not in Wisconsin where Lady Chelle was turning 'as cold as a popcicle'). It's RED-uation Time, it's RED-uation time... Lady Belva is no longer 49! We had a great time at Shanghai celebrating birthdays for Belva and Elizabeth! Belva received a new RED hat, along with 'Six Things One Should Never Be Without'¯Box. The table was decorated with scented lotions and teapot PHBs, along with a giant sugar cookie made by our CoQ Sharon. Great job, Mom!
