Technology News….
Submitted by Mrs. Carolyn Gardner
Technology continues to move forward at a very fast pace. Just this past week, our school
ordered some flip cameras. Not only is video capture easily, the sound is outstanding, and the
download onto the computer is as easy as pushing in a USB flash drive. What does that mean for
students and parents? With this new technology, parents need to up-to-speed and knowledgeable
about this new technology. Students need to know how to use this new tool wisely and
appropriately. I-pods and mp3 players will become a better educational tool shortly.
Dusting….Be watchful if your children have volunteered to clean your computer using
compressed air that can be purchased. One brand is DUST OFF. Please be aware that this
compressed air can cause severe breathing problems and possible death. Do not let your
children use the compressed air to clean your computers. For further information, please go to
the following site.

As we advance to the summer months, your children will most likely be on the computer
and internet even more. Please take time to see where your children are going on the internet.
Check their myspace, and facebook accounts for appropriateness. Check if they have been in
chat rooms. Be proactive to keep your child safe.
MOST OF ALL……Enjoy the summer and spent time doing fun outdoor activities with your family.
