Come celebrate the New Year with Grandfather Frost, the Snow Maiden, and other FRUA families!
When: Sunday, January 8th, 2012, 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Where: The Ice Rink at One Boulder Plaza, Boulder, www.bouldericerink.com
FRUA member price for GF event: free
Nonmember price: $10/family for GF event (free if you join FRUA on-site). Skating prices are additional.
Skating prices at the rink: Adults $6, Kids $4, + skate rental fees ($3); Kids under 3 skate free; senior citizens 60+ $5

Cookies, coffee and hot cocoa, and good cheer provided in rented room near the rink. There will be places to sit inside for those who choose not to skate - a great way to meet and greet other FRUA families!

We would appreciate your RSVP with numbers of adults & children (& child ages) to Cindy Dallow (cindydallow@comcast.net), Co-Chair of the GF event. Although no money will be collected before the event, your RSVP will help us plan, so please RSVP by Jan 4th. (But you can still show up last minute if your plans change.)

Colorado has two Chapters: the Central Mountains Chapter and the South Chapter.

This site will provide information on both chapters but feel free to email the Chair of each Chapter for more information.

The Central Mountains Chapter hosts the annual Grandfather Frost event in January of each year. The date is usually on or near the date of the Russian celebration of Christmas (January 7th). We usually have a brunch or lunch, some entertainments, and a visit from Grandfather Frost himself along with the Snow Maiden. Our youngest members look forward to this event every year!

The Central Mountains Chapter also hosts 1-2 parent education seminars or workshops each year. We are always needing help planning these workshops so please contact us if you are interested in helping out.

The South Chapter hosts an event called Yarmaka, which is usually in September each year. Yarmaka is filled with fun, food, entertainment, and a chance to see old friends or make new ones. Stay tuned for more information on this year's Yarmaka event.
