What do Stephanie Plum and absentee ballots have in common?
They are both characters in mysteries.
Janet Evanovich’s detective wreaks havoc, but gives us a heck of a good time. Absentee ballots are just downright mysterious. Oodles are never turned in.
Why aren't absentee ballots returned?
Possible reasons include:
- forgetting, plain and simple
- waiting until after the last minute
- deciding to try to vote in person
How can I help get more votes turned in?
Talk to people in your precinct! On the phone you can remind folks to return ballots. If you’re walking about (way more fun) you can do even more. You can
- offer to drop off ballots (maximum of 5) for people you know
- carry stamps (if you’ll fill out your ballot right now, I’ll stamp it and you can watch me put it in your mailbox)
- let folks know that they can drop off ballots, but they can't vote in person once an absentee ballot has been issued
