The Club is open to PJS majors and minors as well as any other interested students from the undergraduate or graduate programs. The Club offers opportunities to learn about the development of the PJS academic program, professional organizations doing the work of peace and justice, publication of articles, upcoming conferences, and to be involved in events and activities in the local community and on campus. The Club is an inclusive and positive space, and all are welcome to attend and participate. The PJ Club partners with STAND, Amnesty, the Student Peace Alliance and other national campaigns for peace and justice.

The Student Peace Alliance unites youth from across the country around the common goal of establishing a Department of Peace. The Student Peace Alliance advocates for the creation of a Department of Peace through education and grassroots action.

The Student Peace Alliance is a part of a broad effort to raise awareness and ensure the creation of a Department of Peace. There is now a bill before the U.S. House of Representatives to create this department, which would provide practical non-violent solutions to both domestic and international conflicts in order to prevent war and promote peace.

There is of course only one way to ensure the creation of such a department; congress must hear the voices of America cry out for peace and demand the construction of the Department of Peace.

United Students Against Sweatshops is an international student movement of campuses and individual students fighting for sweatshop free labor conditions and workers' rights. We define 'sweatshop' broadly and recognize that it is not limited to the apparel industry, but everywhere among us. USAS' three major areas of campiagn work are the Sweat-Free Campus Campaign; Ethical Contracting campaigns which includes the fight against Killer Coke and Nestle; and Campus-Community Solidarity campaigns, which include Living Wage and the Right to Organize.

The Sweat-Free Campus Campaign

Last Fall semester, USAS launched an ambitious new campaign that will vastly strengthen the power of the campus anti-sweatshop movement. Under the new proposal, university apparel companies will be forced to produce garments in truly sweat-free factories where workers have a voice on the job and the power to win livable wages. As of now, 30 major universities have already signed on to this proposal, with many more to come.
