rq2013.jpg2013 RAFFLE QUILT
This year's raffle quilt is ' LATE BLOOMERS' by quilt designer, Kim Diehl. This is a bright and colorful quilt that was featured in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine - April 2012 issue. The appliqued flowers are arranged amid blocks that are rich and vibrant. The quilt size is 114 x114. Thank You to all the Guild members who helped make this beautiful quilt.

Each year our Guild selects a quilt design for the next year's raffle quilt. Guild members complete blocks for the quilt. The quilt is quilted by one of our Guild members. Tickets are $1.00 each. The winner will be drawn at our December meeting that is the first Saturday which is our Holiday Party. Monies raised from the raffle ticket sales benefit our Guild's continuing Quilting education program for our Guild members.

S&B Quilters' Guild  meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month at Memorial Hall in Hotchkiss located at the corner of North 1st St and Main St. Business meeting is at 9:00am, with Sew & Share and refreshments following along with the program. Our July meeting is a potluck held in Cleland Park, located in Delta, CO. August we meet on the 1st Saturday of the month because it is Delta County Fair Time. Our December meeting is our Holiday potluck held on the 1st Saturday of the month. Check the monthly calendar in the left legend for meeting dates and events. The Guild was formed in 1989.
Contact the Guild via email - sbquilters1989@gmail.com or by snail mail at - P.O. Box 803, Hotchkiss CO 81419

Our Mission is to promote quilting and to expand and enhance our knowledge and enjoyment of quilting and quilting techniques in an atmosphere of sharing fellowship. It is also to provide a source of information and inspiration for fellow quilters and to preserve the heritage of quilting.

S&B Guild 2013 Challenges & Contests

2013 Guild Challenge

Bev K & Bev S

Bev Kenney & Bev Shiflet are Co-Chairing this for 2013. The challenge is "CHRISTMAS IN JULY". Make your favorite Christmas project to show. These will be shown at our July picnic.

UFO Project Contest

UFO is defined as a project that has been started - with at least some fabric cut. Nancy Foster is the 2013 Chairman for this project. Each January, everyone that wishes to participate fills out their UFO list including the date the project was originally started and a brief description. One copy is given to the UFO committee chairman and one is kept by the participate. During the year members bring their completed UFOs for Sew and Share. These will then be crossed off their list. Prizes will be given at the end of the year for those completing items on their list.

Ugly Fabric Challenge
Lori Vaught is the 2013 Chairman for this project. It will start in January so bring your fabric in a brown bag to the January meeting. One yard of fabric is exchanged anonymously at the January meeting in a brown bag. This is VOLUNTARY. The Chairman numbers all bags received and each participant is given a bag. The completed project is returned in the numbered bag at the June Guild meeting. These creations are unveiled and returned to the original owner. You can create or add anything. The ONLY RULE - you must use the Ugly Fabric on the FRONT of what you create or it MUST be visible.

Bags were exchanged at the Jan. 12th mtg..
