Raf19.jpg2019 RAFFLE QUILT                                                                                       
The body of the quilt is a Judy Niemeyer paper pieced Wedding Ring. The rose applique on the borders was designed by Trish Tuin, using inspiration from several different pictures that were combined. The quilt size is 93x105. Guild members who helped with this raffle quilt were Barb Rogers, Sue Newcomb, Lida Letey & Trish Tuin(Chairman).
The 2019 Raffle Quilt was quilted by Gayle Smith. Thank You to Trish Tuin & all who helped with this quilt.


Each year our Guild selects a quilt design for the next year's raffle quilt. Guild members complete blocks for the quilt. Tickets are $1.00 each. The winner will be drawn at our December meeting that is the first Saturday which is our Christmas Party. Monies raised from the raffle ticket sales benefit our Guild's continuing Quilting education program for our Guild members.

Our Mission is to promote quilting and to expand and enhance our knowledge and enjoyment of quilting and quilting techniques in an atmosphere of sharing fellowship. It is also to provide a source of information and inspiration for fellow quilters and to preserve the heritage of quilting. Congratulations to S&B Quilters' Guild
Wednesday evening, November 14th, 2018 Hotchkiss Chamber of Commerce presented S&B Quilters' Guild
with the 2018 Non-Profit of the Year Award.
Catherine Caldwell presented the award to Guild members Sallie, Wanda, & Rita.
Thank You!!! to the HCC for recognizing the Guild with this award for all the
charitable works that we share with our community. We are honored to receive this award.
The Guild was officially formed in 1989.
Kudos to all the quilters of our guild past, present, and current!!!!

***NEW CLASSES***
Guild Class Attendance Policy
If an instructor requires a minimum number in attendance and you’ve signed up & paid, the guild is not responsible to pay for cancellations. If you cancel less than 2 weeks before the class you will forfeit your fee. You may receive a refund if you cancel prior to two weeks before the class & you have found someone to take your place. The program and education committees may make exceptions to this policy on a case by case basis. Payment for the class is required at sign up.

1st Friday Sew Days scheduled in 2019 - May 3rd, September 6th, October 4th, & November 1st.

Class fee is $5.00, payment is required at sign up. If there is an additional fee it will be noted.
These will be held at Memorial Hall starting at 9:00am-3:00pm. Bring your lunch, snacks, drinks with your project, cutting, pressing, & sewing supplies that you will need. Please, also, bring your sewing machine manual.

These two groups have merged. They are meeting the Third Monday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Starting September 2018 - new location. North Fork Ambulance Training Center in Hotchkiss at 110 East Hotchkiss Ave.

Caring Quilts are shared with various community organizations, individuals in need, & county services.
This is our small way of giving back to those in need in our local community.

Veterans' Quilts
This is our way of honoring and saying thank you to these Veterans for their valor and courage to defend our country. Veterans' Quilts will continue to be shared with various Veterans organizations & Veterans in our community.

Quilts are made throughout the year from fabric and supplies that are donated by the members and the community.

Thank You to all who volunteer to help & for your generous donations to all of our Guild's Community Projects.

S&B Quilters welcomed local Veterans & their families to honor them on Saturday, November 10th, 2018. The event was held at Memorial Hall in Hotchkiss, CO. prior to the Guild meeting. A reception followed with each Veteran selecting a handmade quilt that was made by a S&B Quilter.

2019 challenge rules are to make a Wall Hanging size quilted item. Select from the 1950s top 100 list that Sue Newcomb had at the January 12th meeting.


WIPS(formerly UFOs) Project
Tammy Marty is the 2019 Chairman.

WIPS is defined as a project that has been started - with at least some fabric cut. Each January, everyone that wishes to participate fills out their WIPS list including the date the project was originally started & a brief description. One copy is given to the WIPS committee chairman & one is kept by the participate. During the year members bring their completed UFOs for Sew & Share. These will then be crossed off their list. These were started 2018 or earlier.
Prizes will be given at the December meeting for those completing the most items on their list.

2019 Ugly Fabric Challenge
Co-Chairs are Connie Barry & Michelle Meyers.

January 12th, 2019 participants are to bring 1 yard of "ugly" 100% cotton fabric in a brown paper sack. Turn your bag into Connie & Michelle at the beginning of the meeting. At the end of the meeting, pick up an exchanged bag from Connie & Michelle.

This is VOLUNTARY. The Co-Chairs number all the bags received & each participant is given a bag. The completed project is returned in the numbered bag at the June 8th Guild meeting. These creations are unveiled and returned to the original owner.

Complete a project using the “ugly” fabric as a primary/focus fabric on the right side or outside of your project. You may make anything you’d like. There are no limits to where your creativity can go.

On June 8th, 2019 - Return your completed project in a brown paper bag to Michelle and Connie at the beginning of the meeting. If you are not able to attend, please ensure someone returns your project for you. The reveal will be done during the meeting.
