![]() A treasure is something precious, valued and sought-after. What makes something precious? It is unique, special, even loved. Valued - highly regarded, much esteemed. Important. A treasure is often sought-after; desired to the point that someone would "hunt" for it. What do you treasure? Certain posessions? Perhaps. Many of us have a special collection of "treasures" of some kind. It could be coins, stamps, spoons. For me it is miniature tea sets. I look for them every time I visit some place new. I keep them in a safe place. What about "people" treasures? Our children, of course. Our spouse. Other family members and friends with who we share many treasured memories. Did you know that YOU are a treasure? You are treasured by this MOPS group. This group is here to meet YOUR needs as a mother, woman and leader. You are precious to us and that is why we plan these meetings. You are valued by us and that is why we pray for you. We strive to get to know you, create a place where you will know you are loved and where you will invite other moms you know because they are sought-after treasures too. You are also treasured by God. Yes, even God has treasures. He considers you precious. In fact, He MADE you! And He treasures every unique and precious thing about you. He values you too. He values you so much that he sent Jesus to this earth for YOU. And now, He is seeking after you. Will you let Him find you? Will you be His treasure? I hope so.

What to do when the weather is just not on your side... I had on overwhelming response to what to do when you just have to stay inside. I hope some of these suggestions are helpful and encouraging! All of us teacher moms know this one but I just trotted it out last week and it kept my daughter busy for the better part of an hour! We rolled up our sleeves and used shaving cream on a table top to "play in the snow." We tried to make mini snowmen, snow drifts and then started hiding little toys in the piles for each other to find. We used some of her Polly Pockets and even filled a Gladware container with warm water so they could rinse off in a warm "bath". Finally, we got out the food coloring and experimented with changing the color!
![]() Shop 'til you drop! Honestly, I like to do a lot of crafty things in the winter time when we can't get out. Sometimes I do my scrapping while the children work on whatever they want to create. No fancy formula - just creative creations. And in the afternoon, if children are beyond napping age, I put on a movie for them and lay on the couch in the other room either doing devotional readings or having a good old fashed snooze! Wonderful for getting your second wind!

Hey there.....I have an activity called "safari search" in which I hide safari type little people animals around my house in plain view at higher levels then they usually play at (window sills, shelves, door frames, behind picture frames, etc). I give the kids toy binoculars (which can made out of toilet paper rolls by glueing two together, punching a hole on each to tie a piece of yarn to. The kids can even decorate the binoculars.) and we go around the house searching for the animals looking through the binoculars. During the search we are not allowed to touch the animals, we are only allowed to describe the type of animal we see so that the others can guess what animal it is. It's a great activity, the kids tend to get real excited about searching for the animals and with older kids it's a chance to talk about the things we know about these animals and even make the sounds they make. Have them take turns, one child finds an animal and describes it while the other one looks for it. After they find all the animals I have the kids go in a different room and count while I hide the animals again. Hope you find fun it is like we have here at our house.
![]() We do long jump contests in the hallway. We build forts in the living room. We do scavenger hunts...drawing pictures of kids' items that are already laying around and then they go pick them up and put into one box and get prize. Dancing to music is always a fun thing!
