In the Living Room Christmas traditions: We're just beginning to create them for our little family. My friends gave us the idea of making a new cardboard star each year for the top of the tree that has pictures of friends and family on it. We put all of our Christmas story books in a box and read one each night in December. We have the tradition of giving out tracts and cookies to whoever we can find or think of. We all sing together as a family and celebrate on Christmas Eve at my husband's and the kids either sing or play their instruments as well. Italian people always have fish for Christmas Eve. That is one tradition that my parents still keep. I meant to write to you or tell you at the meeting what we do to celebrate the birth of our savior We make a birthday cake for Jesus on Christmas eve, read from the bible in Luke of his birth, sing happy birthday then go outside to let Jesus blow out the candles(by the wind) We each have our own candle. We thank God for sending his one and only son. We talk about all of the blessings God has given us. We know that the kids have an understanding of what Christmas is really all about. |
