Welcome to the Marine Corps League located in the beautiful foothills of the Berkshire Mountains.

Members of the Marine Corps League and Mayor of Danbury Gene Eriquez

(Bookmark this page now!) The Marine Corps League is a Marine organization comprised of members who have honorably served or are currently serving in the United States Marine Corps or the Marine Corps Reserves. The League has a long and proud history, originally established in New York in June 1923, during a reunion of Marines who served in the First World War. It was chartered by an Act of Congress August 4, 1937, and is authorized to assist and aid in presenting claims before the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) under Public Law #243, passed by the 74th Congress.

Purposes of The Marine Corps League

To preserve the traditions, promote the interest, and perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts, to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.

To band together those who are now serving in The United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that Service together in fellowship, that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy.

To fit its members for the duties of citizenship and to encourage them to serve ably as citizens as they have served our nation under arms.

To hold sacred memory and history of men and women who have given their lives to the nation.

To foster love for the principles that they have supported by blood and valor since the foundling of the Republic.

To maintain true allegiance to American institutions.

To aid voluntarily and render assistance to all Marines, uniformed and civilian, as well as their surviving families.

"Once A Marine Always A Marine"

No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous)

Semper Fi! Heart

Some may wear the uniform

And even look the part

But to truly be a real Marine

You must have a "Semper-Fi-Heart"

This "Heart" is not Earned in Boot camp

But is "Developed" along the "Way"

And it "Grows" because of "Dedication"

Through "Service" each and every day

"Semper" is Latin for "Always"

"Fidelis" means "Faithful" and "True"

"Faithful" when things don't go your way

And "Faithful" when they do

You may not understand the rationale

Nor even know the reason why

But the "mission" will be "Accomplished"

When your "Heart" is Semper-Fi."

Reasons To Love Your Corps

Cpl. Smokin Joe

1. Toughest mascot. The Marine Corps is a bull dog. The Navy's: a goat.

2. The Marines invade, then go home. The Army has to do the occupying.

3. Chesty Puller. you gotta love a service that has heroes with names like that.

4. Most stickers spotted on America's highways on car bumpers and windows.

5. Best motivational cry: Ooh-rah!

6. Marines do more with less, and they like it that way.

7. Best recruiting station: Tun Tavern, Philadelphia, 1775.
