Welcome to the Ridgefield Detachment of the Marine Corps League!
The Marine Corps League of Ridgefield is a cadre of (mostly) Marine veterans very involved in supporting the community of Ridgefield through various events throughout the year. Check out the calendar for events we'll be hosting and/or participating in at the left.
Mission Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps. This is accomplished by banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service; voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines and former Marines and to their widows and orphans, and by perpetuating the history of the United States Marine Corps through fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.
Membership
Annual dues are $40. Lifetime memberships are available and the cost is determined from the official MCL actuarial tables.
Meetings
Meetings are held at 1900 on the third Wednesday of each month at the league building. For directions, click on the Excite button down the page.

Dick Romine Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship is awarded to a deserving Ridgefield High School senior who best meets the detachment's criteria for this award, honoring the distinguished character, service and memory of detachment member Colonel Dick Romine.
Memorial Day Parade
The detachment proudly marches with Ridgefield's VFW and American Legion contingents in the annual Memorial Day parade.
Ridgefield High School Commencement
Our color guard is requested annually to present the colors for opening ceremonies of the high school graduation exercise.
Fourth of July Picnic
Each Fourth of July, the league sponsors a block picnic for all tenants of Halpin Lane that include residents of the convalescent home and community housing.
Veterans Day Observation
The League participates in the town's observance of Veterans Day with the VFW and American Legion.
Toys for Tots
This traditional Marine Corps Reserve community service has nearly grown beyond our dedicated volunteers' ability to service the gift retrieval and distribution. Each year the League collects and distributes nearly 20,000 toys to Ridgefield and surrounding communities. We appreciate the charity of our local businesses and community, which allows us to answer the call of those less fortunate.
