JULY 2008 GAYLORD RESORT AND CONVENTION CENTER SNEEK PEEK

The Washington National Harbor is the new development located on the Potomac River in Washington, DC. It is truly a magnificent sight to see with shops, hotels, restaurants and nightly concerts under the stars. The main attraction is the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center. On July 19, 2008, several chapters in the Northern Region of the Red Hat Society invaded the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center.

CLASSY DIVAS AND DAZZLING YOUNGUNS 2ND ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Queen Carolyn Tracy-Artis of Classy Divas and Dazzling Younguns, celebrated their 2nd anniversary of the Red Hat Society. It was an intimate gathering with chapterettes from the Scarlet Threads of Largo. The celebration was held at Queen Carolyn home. She has a very lovely home and a serene garden, just made for a wonderful tea party. Members brought their Red Hat Tea Cup and Saucer. The food was wonderful, the conversation and sisterhood was magnificent. Poor Carolyn's hubby was holed up in the upstairs den, trying to look at TV while we were in the dining room have a ball! Thank you Carolyn and chapterettes for a glorious evening!

AUGUST 2008 RED HAT BEACH PARTY AT COLONIAL BEACH

The 23rd of August was the day for The Red Hat Beach Party! Several chapters in the Mid Atlantic Region got together for the Annual Beach Party at Colonial Beach. It was a gorgeous day with lots of sunshine, beautiful weather and smiles all around. The ladies grabbed their beach chairs, picnic baskets, red sun hats and purple bathing suits and frolicked in the sand and water.

SEPTEMBER 13, 2008 SCARLET THREADS CRAB FEAST

Our newest Pink Hatter, Crown Princess Tracee Lorraine Powell really took the bull by the horn and jumped right in hosting the First Annual Scarlet Thread Crab Feast. It was in her spacious backyard and we truly felt like Queens! Her husband, Christopher, prepared a feast of Snow Crab Legs, Steamed Shrimp, 2 kinds of salads, Corn on the Cob, Dinner Rolls and soft drinks. The Pink Hatters decorated the backyard and served us! A good time was had by all!

SEPTEMBER 20,2008 BILL PICKENS INVITATIONAL RODEO

Well, the rodeo was in town again this year and as usual, The Red Hat Chapters in the Mid Atlantic Region was there to add to the excitement. Cowboys, cowgirls, bulls, calves, waving flags - it was once again an event not to be missed!
