    Mission Statement                                
    The Department of Delaware Members of the Marine Corps League, join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service; voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines and Veteran (former) Marines and to their widows and orphans, and by perpetuating the history of the United States Marine Corps through fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines

    I would like to thank you for stopping by and visiting the Department of Delaware’s web page. I would also like to urge all active duty & veteran (former) Marines in Delaware to come and see what the Marine Corps League is all about.

    The Department of Delaware Marine Corps League's Charter is dated 29 February 1992. The corporate name of this Department is the Department of Delaware, Inc., and it is a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Delaware.

    The Department of Delaware is comprised of 5 Detachments located throughout our Great State:
    1. General Thomas Holcomb Detachment located in Wilmington, DE
    2. Central Delaware Detachment, located in Dover, DE
    3. DevilDog Detachment, located in Seaford, DE
    4. Diamond State Detachment, located in Millsboro, DE
    5. First State Detachment, located in Ocean View, DE but holds their meetings in Ocean City, MD.

    The Marines of Delaware are making a difference in our communities and our State with programs like:
    • Youth's physical fitness;
    • Young Marines of the Marine Corps League;
    • Marine Reserve Toys for Tots Program;
    • and the Fallen Marine Program, to name a few. .

    We are about Honor, Courage and Commitment. When duty calls, Marines are and have always been the first to fight and we continue to answer the call today. We are Marines helping Marines, Marines helping our communities and Marines helping our Nation. .

    MCL History

    The Marine Corps League was founded by General John A. Lejeune in 1923, receiving its national Charter by an Act of Congress on August 4, 1937. The Department of Delaware received its Charter on 29 February 1992. We are classified as a veterans/military service organization whose purpose is to promote the interests and preserve the traditions of the U. S. Marine Corps; assist fellow Marines, their widows and orphans and participate in various patriotic ceremonies. This Department is comprised of 5 Detachments The league is comprised of honorably discharged as well as reserve and active duty Marines and FMF Navy Corpsmen with over 90 days of service. Those individuals that want to participate with the Marine Corps League but do not otherwise qualify may join as Associate Members
     


     



      Meeting Times and Location
    Department Meetings for 2008 / 2009

    The Department of Delaware meetings are as follows:
    Jun 27, 2009 Department meeting and Annual Convention to be held at the American Legion Post 28 Millsboro, DE (Note Change in starting time. Meeting will start at 0900)

    All Department meetings, with the exception of the Department Convention, will be at the US Army Reserve Center located at New & Clara St, Dover, DE 19901. Meetings will start promptly at 1000.
