The purpose of the MCL is to preserve the traditions, promote the interest and perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps, and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historic occasions of particular interest to Marines; to band together those who are now serving the Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from the service together in fellowship, that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy; to fit its members for the duties of citizenship and to encourage them to serve as able citizens as they served their country under arms; to hold sacred the memory and history of men who have given their lives to the nation; to foster love for the principles that they have supported by blood and valor since the founding of the republic; to aid and render assistance to all Marines, uniformed and civilian, as well as their widows and orphans.
 
 Meetings: Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the American Legion Oak Orchard/ Riverdale Post 28 on Route 24. During the months of November and December, meetings are held so as not to interfere with the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays.
 
Membership
Regular Marines and FMF Corpsmen; with full privileges. Associate other service veterans; with limited privileges.

Diamond State Unit, MCL Auxiliary

The Marine Corps League Auxiliary was chartered on September 4, 1937 as a subsidiary organization of the Marine Corps League. On August 25, 1950, the Auxiliary was incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia as an affiliate of the Marine Corps League. The Auxiliary was formed for the purposes of promoting the interests of the U. S. Marine Corps, the Marine Corps League and to protect and advance the welfare of Marines and their dependents. Auxiliary members participate in a wide variety of programs that benefit and preserve the fundamental rights and freedoms of every person of this Nation, young and old.
