“The Watershed in your Backyard,” a FREE public event sponsored by Saint Andrews and the University of Delaware Ag College. Participate in a 5K race(see below) to benefit the Appoquinimink River Association, take a biobarge or farm bus tour, and even partake in a series of youth and adult workshops covering topics such as rain gardens, meadows, organic gardening, composting and more. Join us for this spring celebration on St. Andrews campus in Middletown . 10 am-2 pm. Call for more information. 831-2506.
Appoquinimink Race for our River
Appoquinimink River Association (ARA) Watershed Race and Fundraiser. The race will be in Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St. Andrew's School on 350 Noxontown Road in Middletown, Delaware. The 5K Race begins at 9:00am and the Fun Run begins at 9:10am. Race day registration is from 7:30am - 8:50am. The race is expected to be an event for anyone who is a runner, walker, environmental enthusiast, pet owner, family, or even just for people who would like to get some information and some good old fashioned exercise!
This project has us selling our "World Famous" Middletown Crab Cakes, Hot Dogs, and Beverages to raise funds for our many community projects.
Lion Carl has chosen Saturday April 19 "EARTH DAY" for our next Adopt-A-Highway Route 301 clean-up. We'll meet across from the McDonald's, as usual, around 8 AM. 2 hours later we'll have a clean Route 301.
