MIZELLEN'S REDS CHAPTER #66912 IN WILMINGTON, DELAWARE

Be Blessed

Happy to have you visit with us. We are so glad you came. We are a new chapter, born March 13th, 2006. We are growing. Our first official gathering will be on my birthday, June 17th, 2006. I personally am looking forward to enjoying the second half of my life. I anticipate having fun with and meeting new people. My husband is excited for me. I dubbed him Lord Jim of Vandever Vikings,Consort to the Queen and Royal Chauffer. My daughters and my grand-daughter are Pink Hatters and my Great Grand-daughter is our Mascot.

The Red Hat Society exists to prove there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and, since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.

Are there any responsibilities? The main responsibility is to have fun! We see this group as an opportunity for those who have shouldered various responsibilities at home and in the community their whole lives,to say goodbye to burdensome responsibilities. This is a place to have fun and enjoy ourselves. Of course, someone needs to plan the events or they would never happen, but oftentimes members take turns at these things so that they do not become "jobs" for anyone. http://www.redhatsociety.com/ Info/questions.html#rules The refrain of the popular Red Hat Society theme song by Mike Harline puts it rather bluntly: "All my life, I've done for you. Now it's my turn to do for me."

Our first outing was to join a sister chapter having a fashion show and a luncheon.

Well my chapterettes gave me a Red Hat Society Birthday Party on June 17, 2006. I/we had a great time. My Girls went all out for my Birthday. The decorations and the food were fantastic. Three ladies decided to join my chapter.

July 16, 2006 we had our first official tea at the Flavors of Britain Tea Room. It was so much fun. My chapterettes are such wonderful people. The mix is great. We just want to have fun. We had 7 in attendance and added 4 more members We are now 11 members.

August 3rd,2006 we joined 400 Red Hatters on The Spirit of Philadelphia for a Luncheon Cruise. Did we have a good time, yea

We had a Meet & Greet BarBQue in August. The gathering was a smashing success. 5 more ladies added to this chapter.

On October 28th we gathered at "Michael's Restaurant" for dinner and added one more lady.

Our next gathering was on December 9th and we decorated a "Bountiful Box of Blessings" for a battered woman's shelter. What fun!!! We filled that box to the top. The food was a wonderful spread of cold cuts, dips, fruit, salads. It was held at Lady Latrell's beautiful home. We added one more lovely lady to our chapter.

Best Wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The year 2007 promises to be an active one. Many plans in the works.

In January, the ladies were treated to both hand and back massages for a "NIGHT of RELAXATION". It was fabulous. What an experience. We had a great time.

The March Hare's Tea held at the Christiana Hilton was a smashing success.

I just love being with so many of my Red Hat Sisters having fun. And they can have fun. It's wonderful to feel so free.

To celebrate "Red Hat Society Day" seven of us and My Consort "Lord Jim" went on the Spirit of Philadelphia. What a wonderful day it was. They love to dance. The food was delicious, too. Two more ladies expressed interest in joining our chapter. We are on hiatus until August when we will have a Meet and Greet gathering.

The Meet and Greet held on 08/25/07 was a smashing success. We had a great time and 05 ladies joined our chapter.

On October 27th we had a fantastic time at The Red Lobster Restaurant. WE got a lot of attention. I just love it.

I haven't posted for a while but we have been busy. I am sorry to say we have lost some members but we are still strong because ladies still join us. We have been to lunch and a movie twice and a proper tea was given by one of our ladies.

Had another fine time on "The Spirit of Philadelphia

Like I said we are busy. Keep an eye out, ok?

"STICK AROUND, WE ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS."
