Most of the previous and current studies addressing the correlation between implants and systemic complications have not examined causation in patients who are ill following implantation. Instead, asymptomatic implant recipients are examined.
Future studies need to focus on the symptomatic patients,so that physicians may properly diagnose systemic complications.
