![]() The Association of Practical Nurse Educators of Florida (APNEF) is a statewide organization of registered nurses who teach in practical nursing programs and others interested in practical nursing education. APNEF is a non-profit professional organization whose purpose is to improve the quality of practical nursing education in the state of Florida. Other functions of APNEF include networking with other instructors and updating members on issues in the state of Florida affecting nurses and nursing education. The objectives of APNEF as stated in the by-laws:

Dec 2-4, 2009 TBA Other Board news: Newest members to the Board of Nursing, term to run from January 20, 2006 until October 20, 2009, are: Marie Seitz of Sebring (NP), Mary Jane Herrera of LaBelle (NP), and Rosa Carson of Tallahassee (attorney) There is a listing of institutions offering remediation courses for those applicants who have failed to pass the NCLEX within 3 attempts. Please suggest this to any of your former students who might be in need of such a course. New CE Rules: All Florida-licensed nurses are now in a 24-month renewal period and must complete 24 hours each renewal period. Two hours on Prevention of Medical Errors is required; HIV/AIDS is now a one-time 1 hour requirement and Domestic Violence is now a 2 hour requirement every third renewal. If you are a nurse in another state or country, please contact the Florida Board of Nursing for information about licensure.
