I taught 10 years in a private school before coming back to Bayview Elementary. Bayview is where I was lucky to have our own Nancy Wengren as my mentor teacher! Can you image anything more perfect? Last year I completed my gifted endorsement and will complete my reading endorsement this year. Best of all I have Nancy across the hall as a mentor, prayer partner and friend.
Nancy writes, I was born in Chicago, but consider myself a Ft. Lauderdale native now having lived here for 57 years. I have taught at one school in Broward county since 1959, Bayview Elementary. The enrollment the first year I taught was less than 300 and now we are almost double that. Believe me that is one thing that has changed but the family atmosphere has not.
