About the S.W.I.N.G. Program
S.W.I.N.G. is a New Golfer Mentor Program designed to pair new golfers with more experienced players to help new golfers become comfortable at and on the golf course. Mentors provide an orientation to the nuances of the game to help the new golfer gain confidence and a greater comfort level. Golfers of all handicap levels may become mentors. What is of greatest importance for members to bring to the program is the knowledge and love of the game they have that they can share with new golfers.
Who are Mentees? Anyone new to the game or even someone who's played for some time but remains unsure about the nuances of the game. Mentors help mentees gain a comfort level on club house and golf course etiquette – the nuances the teaching professional may not teach you. Mentees are also those who would benefit from the comfort of having a personal golfing buddy to help build confidence. Being a EWGA S.W.I.N.G. Mentee will raise your comfort and confidence level on basic rules, etiquette, tipping, and so much more. Mentors do not teach the golf swing, but will help you with the many little things that will make you feel like a golfer – in a friendly, supportive way. And don't forget that by being a Mentee, you'll gain the advantage of connecting with a network of other women in your Chapter who have found the benefits of using golf for business and for life. How to sign up: Individuals interested in participating in the 2008 S.W.I.N.G. program should sign in to the Members Only area of the EWGA website at www.ewga.com. Under the "Events & Orders" Tab is a link entitled, "Get into the S.W.I.N.G." Click on that link and follow the instructions to register as either a Mentor or as a Mentee
