Why get involved? For me, being involved in my child's life goes beyond the life at home and extends to their life at school.
The PTC is not an option for me; it is a must. I am a part of the BSMS PTC not only to better improve the quality
of the current parent-teacher dynamic but to also further support the academic and social development of my
child by way of example and the exercising of my voice. - Dana Nicholson, 2007-2008 PTC Vice-President
September 10th,
for the 2008/2009 school year will be done via secret ballot. Everyone votes (one per family)but must be present to do so!
We will be seeking parents to sign up to work on committees, to sign up as a chairman (we love fresh faces!).
Our PTC is a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers and administrators who have a special interest in children, families
and school. Our members meet together on a monthly basis to organize fund-raising activities, plan cultural events, openly share problems,
concerns and become informed on issues
regarding children and the school.
Your children want you to be actively involved with their lives. The BSMS PTC provides
the opportunity for you to serve, volunteer and be an important part of your children's education team. It's a great personal satisfaction
to know you are working along with teachers and administrators to shape and mold your children's future.
Parental involvement can take many forms. Some parents and families may have the time to get involved in many ways using their talents
and resources. Others may only have time for one particular activity. You set your own limits.
There are many different ways you can be involved at BSMS. Don't believe the folklore (or your kids!) that middle school
parents don't participate at school. You can participate without being seen by your children - and your child will be
more successful in school if she/he knows you're involved.
We're looking forward to a great school year, and your help as a parent is needed. Start thinking of how you might like to be
involved.

activities.
Because we need you! Being an informed and involved parent is one of the best investments you and your family can make!
