The purposes of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society shall be:

  • To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship.
  • To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education.
  • To advance the professional interest and position of women in education.
  • To sponsor and support desirable educational legislation and initiate legislation in interest of women educators.
  • To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to women educators from other countries.
  • To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action.
  • To inform the members of current economic, social, political, and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society.
  •
    SOCIETY SYMBOLS

The KEYPIN is given to each member upon initiation. It is the emblem of Society membership and is worn over the heart.

The RED ROSE is the official flower of the Society and is used in all ceremonies and for special occasions.

The CREST or COAT OF ARMS is often printed on Society publications. The cup of knowledge and the laurel wreath, representing achievement, are also found on the keypin. The torse below the laurel wreath of the crest represents inspiration. The lamp of learning, the rose, and a book are found on the crest. Finally, the name of the Society, in Greek, completes the crest.

    A Note From Our President...
I am excitedly honored to merge into Delta Beta's rich twenty year leadership legacy. And I believe we all have a responsibility to embrace and uphold the Society's seven purposes, and to invest in its continuous growth. Without a doubt, I know we have an outstanding chapter of diverse professionals. So, let's continue our personal and professional growth.

     The Delta Kappa Gamma Collect
Give us, our Lord, a realization of what our organization stands for:

With its high ideals always before us, may our faith and courage never weaken.

Grant that we endeavor to meet the responsibilities and obligations set before us.

Help us to be truly loyal one to another and may we strive to become more worthy members of our profession.

And as we pledge anew our noble cause, may unity and cooperation continue unbroken to the end.
