8/15/09 ????? a.m. SHIRLEY HELLMAN'S HOME. Lunch is planned then we will watch a documentary movie about the Red Hat Society and how much it means to everyone.

9//19/09 9:30 a.m. PRESBYTERIAN APARTMENTS, in Lakeland. I have reserved a room for us to make Greeting Cards with Mary once again. Mary taught us last year at Violettes.

Queen's Notes
I'm happy to announce that the Divine Divas w/Hattitude is in it's fifth year(April 08) as an official chapter of the Red Hat Society. I just renewed our membership.
"1.)E-mail is the Queen's chosen method of communication. RSVP is simply a courtesy - yea or nay!
2.)Official colors are mandatory. It's a Red Hat event ladies,,,,,wear a red hat please. (The more purple the better.) Those under 50 will dress in pink hats and lavender clothing.
3.) We will greet all sister's with a royal wave and a brim-brush (mutual shoulder touching and gentle brushing of our hat brims).

What does the Red Hatter Wear?

If I'm a Lady of 50+ I will wear:
Hat -- Red
Clothing (dresses, pants, blouses, solids preferred) -- Purple
Gloves -- Red
Purse -- Your choice (red is fabulous)
Shoes -- Your choice (red is wonderful)

If I'm a Lady-in-Waiting I will wear:
Hat -- Pink
Clothing (dresses, pants, blouses, solids preferred) -- Lavender
Scarves & Boas -- Lavender or Pink
Gloves -- Lavender or Pink
Purse -- You choice (lavender is beautiful)
Shoes -- Your choice (lavender is really sexy!)

If it's MY Birthday Month, my colors reverse: (Because I feel like it, and because I can)
Hat - Purple
Clothing - Red or
Hat - Lavender
Clothing – Pink

Chapter Doings

MY COTTAGE GARDEN

My Cottage Garden was where we had a lovely and delicious High Tea in June. Debbie prepared a beautiful selection of foods, fruit and desserts as usual. With only seven attending, we had a lot of fun visiting and swapping funny stories. Thanks to all who attended.

BIRTHDAYS IN JANUARY
Celebrate and Reverse Your Colors

I apologize, in my move my book of Chapter Members is missing. I have it, just don't know where. So, everyone having birthdays in JUNE--JULY--AUGUST we all wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG according to George Carlin
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them.'
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever, even ham radio. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them , at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER : Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Saturday, 7/25/09 at 12:00 noon We will meet at Hilde's house for a fun and entertaining afternoon. Hilde is preparing salad and grilled steak, and a yummy dessert yet to be named. Afterward, we will play a couple of games, then be entertained by an old, old black & white movie. Should have lots of laughs with "Dinner for One".
