Last month Diane Valovich and I attended the Mu State Fall Workshop in Orlando. We are looking forward to sharing what we learned with you at our November meeting. The Xi Chapter Board met on October 15 to discuss new committee structure, Xi’s Strategic Action Plan and our plans for Support for Early Career Educators. We will be asking for member input at our next meeting. It is very important that as many of you who are able plan to attend. With the exception of March where we are still working on speaker availability and location our 2011-2012 program has been finalized. Please be sure to mark your calendars to save the dates listed above. Flyers will be sent through email and newsletters with further details as we get closer to the meeting dates. There were 14 Xi sisters at the Sept. 3 Broward County joint President’s Message initiation to welcome our new members, Melissa Moore, Alyce Marshall, and Rocio Rodriguez. We are fortunate to have such talented women join our chapter. Thank you to Carol Lansdale and the Finance Committee for preparing the 2011-2012 budget. It was presented and approved at our September meeting. There are still a few members who have not sent in their dues. Please take a moment to mail your check to Paula Miller as soon as possible. Remember to bring your gently read hardcover or paperbacks to our November meeting for our “Buck A Book” fundraiser for the Schools for Africa project. Looking forward to seeing you on Nov. 15th.
