serving-color.jpgServing Dunedin Since 1959

The Kiwanis Club of Dunedin is part of an organization that began in 1915 with one club in Detroit, Michigan. Kiwanis International as it became known in 1916, by establishing a club in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, has its headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana and now has over 13,000 clubs with more than 600,000 Kiwanis-family members in 96 countries.

In a typical year, Kiwanis clubs invest more than 6 million man-hours and 100 million U. S. dollars in communities around the world. Through these efforts, Kiwanis members are truly "Serving the Children of the World" and leaving a lasting impression on future generations.

The full and real history of the Kiwanis Club of Dunedin can never be reduced to words on paper. The real history of the club is written in the hearts and lives of the members and their committees.

We continue to support Dunedin and surrounding communities through donations and especially the efforts of our members who work together for the betterment of our community.

We meet the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th (if there is one) Thursday of every month at 7:30 am in
Meeting Room 1, Mease Hospital, 601 Main St, in Dunedin, FL. For a one hour meeting. A breakfast is provided.

On the 3rd Thursday of the month we meet at 6:15 pm at Kally K's Restaurant on Main Street in Dunedin , FL. Dinner is "dutch treat". On April 21, 2011, however, we will meet at 5:30 p. m. at Camp Soule in Clearwater.

We meet weekly for planning, announcements and programs.

Providing SERVICE In Dunedin

All officers, directors and members of the Kiwanis Club of Dunedin are also officers, directors and members of the Dunedin Kiwanis Foundation, a 501(C)3 corporation. All donations to the foundation, cash or otherwise, are tax deductible.

Kiwanis serves the children of the world and Sponsored Youth is a main focus for our club and our foundation. Keeping in mind that Children are Priority One, we work through our committees to launch new ideas that will benefit today’s youth as well as our community service programs. Dunedin Kiwanis helps to fund our schools for special programs, Terrific Kids programs, Head Start activities, and scholarships, to name a few.

Vision Ace Hardware in Dunedin and the Kiwanis Club of Dunedin co-host an annual "Kiwanis Christmas for Kids" drive to collect monetary donations to provide for the needs of special children. The drive is now for the benefit of The Adventure Amputee Camp for kids, ages 8 - 16, with missing limbs.

The Kiwanis Club of Dunedin strives to improve the lives of all youth.

Our Major Fundraiser is our annual
Kiwanis Morton Plant Mease Midnight Run
held on July 4th of each year on the Dunedin Causeway to Honeymoon Island State Park.

Many Thanks
to Morton Plant Mease Hospitals, our Major Midnight Run Sponsor

31 Annual Midnight Runs
have raised more than
$560,000

Dunedin Cup and Kiwanis Regatta

This is a two day event each year sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Dunedin and The Dunedin Boat Club at the City of Dunedin Marina.

The net proceeds of the event support the Dunedin Youth Sailing Association which fosters responsibility, team-building, sportsmanship, and fairness while the youth learn to sail on Dunedin sound.

In the past, this event raised more than $50,000.00 which was donated to the City of Dunedin toward the cost of a Boundless Playground for children of all abilities at the Dunedin Community Center.

Annual Adventure Run
A scenic trail and beach 5 mile run in Honeymoon Island State Park, Dunedin, Florida. Now held each year in January on an early Sunday morning it raises additional funds for our community projects.

Weaver Park Project

A 1920's home in what is now known as Weaver Park near downtown Dunedin is used by the Dunedin Fine Arts Center for classes for artists and amateurs.
The Kiwanis Club of Dunedin played a major role in getting the house usable for the art center by patching and painting it inside and out.

Kiwanis Sprayground
A very popular place for the children of Dunedin built as a joint effort by the City of Dunedin and our club.

Every Child A Swimmer Program

Each Spring The Kiwanis Club of Dunedin and The Dunedin Parks and Recreation Department teaches children to swim.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers
dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
