The 2008-2009 year has begun with David Carlilie of Riverview as our new President, who was adequately fined for his first meeting. We also had our traditional salute to Veteran's to honor their service to our country.

As Jr. Past President, I want to thank everyone in the District for helping me have a successful year. We raised nearly $6,000.00 dollars for the FBMA through our activities and over $1,700.00 dollars for the Gimme Five Fund through our pass around jug. We were acknowledged and congratulated for the Gimme Five program at our annual convention. I also want to thank all the Lodge membership chairmen and administrators for reporting a new application for each and every month from November 2007 through October 2008 giving us 100% for the year. In addition, District 19 was the first District to report 100% twice during the year. Considering there are twenty-eight districts, this was a great accomplishment for us. I also want to thank all of you who have attended our meetings throughout the year, the ladies of the WOTM who sold the tickets and provided the gifts, the men and woman who cooked the breakfasts and lunches and the men and women who participated in our sports programs. All of these activities together make for a successful District Meeting. I hope everyone enjoyed the programs and themes.

I hope that I was able to successfully disseminate the information I received from our Association as our District is the main venue for passing along many of the items that International and the Association wants you, the members, to know.

Thank you all for participating and a special thanks to Dorean Devlin for purchasing the mystery gifts --- each one was something any household could use and want.

For the coming year let's continue to have a great turnout so we may maintain a very good average attendance. It is a real source of pride when our District President is able to announce attendance of 120 to 130 members and put to shame the districts with double and triple our membership when they announce only 40 members showed up to a meeting. You, the members of District 19, are absolutely fantastic in your involvement and you are recognized at each and every FBMA Board meeting.

For now --- Isn't it great to be a MOOSE!
