In 1925, Helen Keller addressed the Lions at their International Convention in Sandusky, Ohio.

She asked the Lions to take up her crusade and adopt sight conservation as a major project of Lions Clubs International.

She did not realize the eventual impact of her pleas when she asked:
"Gentlemen, would you be my Knights of the Blind"

Lions clubs have been bringing people together, for the benefit of their community since 1917. We give you the opportunity to join nearly 1.35 million members, in over 46,000 Lions clubs in nearly 200 countries who care about their community and find personal satisfaction by helping others.

It is a simple idea that can make a big difference
A Lions club is a group of community-minded people who care about the neighbourhood where they live or work. As a member of a Lions club, you will be able to help dtermine the type of services that the club provide, meet other like-minded leaders in your community and make a difference in the lives of thers.

Each Lions Club is Unique
While many Lions clubs support projects that improve education, assist the disabled or improve the saftey of the community, the possibities are endless. Each Lions club determines the projects that the members fel would benefit their commuinty the most.

Membership Has its Privileges
Lions Clubs International offers training and support that can enhance every aspect of your life.

Networking with other Leaders
Club members will also have the ability to connect with other clubs, both locally and around the world, allowing commity-mined people everywhere to freely exchange ideas on how to assist people in need, raise funds and lauch new projects.

The LION Magazine
Each issue is filled with valuable information about how you can make a difference, and moving stories about how people, just like you, have improved their community and touched the lives of others.
