President’s Message

Welcome to the Gilchrist County Woman’s Club Website! We hope that this site is both helpful and informative to our members, for people interested in our clubs fundraisers and activities, and for all those who are looking for an attractive, convenient location to hold a wedding reception, business meeting or other special events.

I am excited and honored to serve as your president for the 2011-2012 Club year. Our theme this year is “Teamwork” and I look forward to be working with such a wonderful group of board members and club members. The GCWC is an incredible group of dedicated and caring woman who strive to make our community a special place. If you love to socialize, meet new people and would like contribute to our community, we invite you to join our club.

Meetings are held monthly from September through May on the second Thursday of the month. Please consider attending a meeting as our guest to learn more about our club. The Club’s Committee Officers lead the direction of the club as well as organizing the year’s activities. Some of our annual activities include a special brunch for the ladies at Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center, A Veterans Day breakfast open to the community and honoring our local veterans, A Christmas Social and Dinner, Preparing and Serving desserts at the Gilchrist County Education Foundation Wild Beast Feast, participating in the Suwannee Valley Quilt Festival and a Mother & Daughter Banquet in April to honor our graduating young women and their mothers.

A particular goal of the club is to provide a scholarship of $1,000.00 to a young lady graduating from Gilchrist County. With the help and support from the community, our annual BBQ Pork Luncheon which is held at our clubhouse, has been very successful in raising money for the scholarships. An annual 2 day Indoor Rummage Sale is a fundraiser our club and community always look forward to. Yes, we are a busy bunch!

Once again, I thank you for visiting our website. I would also like to thank the all the club members for their time and talents and for the work you do on behalf of our community. With your support I look forward to a great year, having some fun and a lot of laughs! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to become involved with the Club.

Teamwork
Coming Together

Working Together
Succeeding Together
For Club and Community!

Sincerely,
Cindy Slaughter
GCWC President
