What We Believe

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen

Welcome to our Church study!

I am Pastor Bob Zasimovitch, I believe the word of God in the Bible can come alive for each of us through the Holy Spirit. My goal in setting up and using this website for Bible study is to make the word come to life each week so you will grow into a closer relationship with the Trinity (God the Creator, Jesus our Savior, and the Holy Spirit our communicator).

I pray that God will speak the truth to you during your visit with us!

We are a non-denominational Christian Church and in the process of building a different type of ministry in Hudson/Spring Hill, community in Northern Pasco, South Hernando Counties, Florida.

We are in the process of starting our worship services each Sunday morning at 10:00 at Downing Funeral Home located at 1214 Wendy Ct., Spring Hill, Fl. If you would like to join us please email me (Pastor Bob) and I will contact you with directions to our church.

Sunday Lesson September 20th, 2009

The Gap

Over the past few Sunday’s we have talked about trust, hope, faith, joy and peace. Today we are going to dig a little deeper into how we are to grow to close the gap of hope, and faith. But before we do let us pray;

Father God, owner of our soul prepare our heart for your word to fall fresh on our ears so that we may hear, receive, and own your word in a personal way we pray. Amen

Are you aware of the gap in your life. Let me explain we all have something we want to obtain, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. I have found myself falling short because of my human abilities. As I grow into Christian maturity we learn to let go and let God. Notice I said as I grow, I grow you grow, we all continue to grow.

I remember as a child about ten years old, my mother buying Oreo cookies, they are a favorite of mine. I always knew that when my mother returned from the grocery store we were going to have a few Oreo cookies. See I would get two or tree cookies and I would take a cookie and try to twist the two cookie pieces apart to get to the white sugar filling in the center. My mother knew that she would have to limit my two brothers and I or we would eat the entire bag in one sitting or crave fest. To ensure the cookies would last my mother would put the cookies in a smiley face cookie jar on top of the refrigerator, you know safely out of reach to be eaten on another day.

There was a problem with this, because my mother was creating a gap, the gap was my height and the top of the refrigerator to the cookie jar. Well being the smart one out of the three brothers I would get a chair from the dining room and bring it into the kitchen and place it in front of the refrigerator, then I would enlisted my younger brother to climb up and grab us some cookies. What you didn’t expect me to get caught with my hand in the cookie jar. We got away with this for quite some time.

As a child I was trying to take control and change the gap in my life. Life was simple back then. Just as it is for our children and it should be. As we mature in age our needs and wants change and there is a gap that still remains. How do you deal with the gaps of life?

Men by nature are fixers, and women are comforters. What do you do when you can not fix or comfort the problems of life away?

When I was a young father my oldest daughter at nine months of age had kidney failure. I drove her to all Children’s hospital and they took her from me to begin working on her health. In a matter of minutes there was a huge gap something I wanted and I was not able to fix, it was out of my hands, her health was in God hands and He was in control.

Have you ever felt as though you are Hopeless? Have you ever felt as though you had no control? Have you ever felt as though you were alone? Have you ever felt as though there was no ware to turn?

Matthew 14:22-33 22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowd. 23 After He had dismissed them, He went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone, 24 but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. 25 During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." 28 "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." 29 "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" 32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

As adults we have problems or situations that occur from time to time that we can not fix, prepare for or situations change and this creates gap in our life.

When we grow in a mature level of understanding our limits it becomes easier to let go and let God. When my daughter was in the hospital on three separate occasions the doctors wanted to perform experimental surgery on her. Experimental means it has not been done before that they know of. Each time a pastor friend was with me and we prayed to God for a good outcome. I learned to let go and let God back then. I had to surrender to what God was going to do. I had to learn to let go and let God be the difference in the gap. As a fixer I have to admit this was the hardest lesson I had to learn and as I have matured not as an adult but as a follower of Jesus I have learned from past experiences that God fills the gap.

The acronym for gap is God Actively Perfecting.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

See God wants us to turn to Him in times of need. God always is available for a conversation and He hears all of our requests. You are never alone in any situation and God makes up the difference when we fall short or when it is out of our reach. God wants you to succeed in all things.

Jesus is the rock of our foundation, I challenge you to start tomorrow to pray each day for a week in the morning before you leave your bedroom and see if you have a difference in your life.
