WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE!
We are a group of red hatters from Avon Park, Sebring, Spring Lake and Fort Basinger.
How it all began...
The Red Hat Society began as a result of a few women deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor and elan. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life, and since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.

We give thanks for Red Hat Sisters here,
Grant us peace and keep us dear.
Bless us with health, keep us from hurt.
Teach us to laugh at ourselves and revert
Into that child whose joy does abound,
When we share our love with those all around.
Help us find good in all that we see,
And watch over those who keep us all free.

I do solemenly swear on my Red Hat
That I will do my best to uphold The spirit of the Red Hat Society.
I promise to greet middle age with humor and take my silliness seriously.
I promise to regularly practice laughing and having fun.
I promise to wear proper attire at all functions.
I promise to eat dessert first, if I want to.
I promise to dispel the notion that a woman my age is OLD!

WOW!! WHAT A RIDE!!
My face in the mirror
Isn’t wrinkled or drawn.
My house isn’t dirty
The cobwebs are gone.
My garden looks lovely
And so does my lawn.
Oh, I think I might never
Put my glasses back on!
'Tis the actual truth,
We must confess,
We love our red hats and
purple dress!
We're in for the fun
and not the show,
So come on girls,
lets get dressed and go!
Red hat, red shoes,
red bag, red lips,
We've money for lunch and
enough for tips!
This much for certain,
to look your best,
There's nothing like red with
a purple dress!
As we gaily sail through the
restaurant door,
Our hats and dress bring
stares galore!
We're not too loud and
we're not too bold--
We're just too young to be
this old!
We feel foot-loose and
fancy free,
As we share our hattitude
with random and glee!
Close like sisters,
precious as pearls,
We're best known as the
GOODTIME GIRLS!

A poet put it very well. She said when she was older,
ODE TO THE RED HAT SOCIETY
She wouldn't be so meek and mild.
She threatened to get bolder.
She'd put a red hat on her head, and purple on her shoulder.
She'd make her life a warmer place,
her golden years much golder.
We read that poem, all of us, and grasped what she is saying
We do not need to sit and knit, although we all are graying.
We think about what we can do, our plans we have been laying.
Instead of working all the time, we'll be out somewhere playing.
We take her colors to our hearts, and then we all go shopping
For purple clothes and hats of red, with giant brims a-flopping.
We're tired of working all the time,
and staying home and mopping.
We order pies and chocolate fudge,
and rich desserts with topping.
We crown ourselves as duchesses and countesses and queens.
We prove that playing dress-up isn't just for Halloween.
We drape ourselves in jewels, feathers, boas, and sateen.
We see ourselves on television and in magazines.
We laugh, we cry, we hug a lot. We keep each other stong.
When one of us goes out for fun, the rest all go along.
We gad about, we lunch and munch, in one big happy throng.
We've found the place where we fit in, the place we all belong.
