THE WOMEN OF THE MOOSE

Hello Chapter friends,

Please join us at our Chapter Night meetings which are on the first Thursday of each month at 8PM and have a chance to meet & welcome our newly enrolled Chapter members. Also come to our Business Meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 8PM to get more involved and learn about what's going on with our Chapter.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP YOUR CHAPTER? Changes to the Women of the Moose were announced at the International Convention in Orlando. They are listed on the Moose International website. We will soon no longer have the ritual enrollment ceremony as we know it today. We will have a new application form, an application review committee, an orientation night and a Committee Activity Night (formerly our Chapter Night). With the upcoming changes, we will have openings for ladies to be involved in our Chapter. We will need a Meeting Coordinator, (formerly known as Ritual Director). There will be 3 positions available on the Application Review Committee. Please think about volunteering for these positions. We need to help and encourage each other during this transition period and beyond. We have a good Chapter and we must persevere. I am committed to the WOTM. I will do my best along with the other officers with all the upcoming changes. We need your help for our Chapter. We can do this together. We await the new meeting procedures and agendas from Moose International, which are expected sometime after August 1st. Until then, we will have our Chapter Night enrollments as usual.

At our July Chapter night, Donna McCutchen had a “Get Acquainted” Game after the meeting. It brought laughter and smiles to our faces for a few minutes. Of course we all enjoyed the food as we always do. Thank you to all who attended the meeting, shared in the game and brought food. Congratulations & thank you to Melissa Morris who was installed as the Educational Advancement Chairman. And thank you again to Barbara & Ada for their services as Installing Regent and Installing Guide/Guide. Welcome to our new Members: Patrica Garcia and Grace Delos-Santos.

Elvis night was a blast! The roast beef dinner was excellent! Thank you to Donna and her helpers: Fred, April, Jackie, Sandy, Carol, Tammi F., and Barbara. We also thank you for your support if you bought a hang up or participated in the drawing and auction. Thank you to Mary Strahorn for her generous donation for the Moosehaven committee.

Family Involvement Chapter Meeting on 7/15 Congratulations and thank you to Kathy Landis who was installed as our Moosehaven chairman. And we welcome our new member: Bessie May Ripple who was enrolled at this meeting. We had quite a few ladies out of town or not able to attend the meeting, but we thank the ladies who stepped up to help: Barbara V. as Installing Regent, Tammy H. as Jr. Grad. Regent, Tammi F. as Guide/Installing Guide and Joelle Peek as Protem Chairman. And thanks to Tammy H. who set up the room early.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Our Youth Involvement Chapter Night is on August 2nd at 8PM. Our chairman, Cindy Sue Addison has a different game planned. Please join us for fun and friendship and meet our new members.

Cindy Sue’s dinner will be a “mean meatloaf with a special ingredient” and “Nordie’s Tators” on August 11th. She is making a wonderful basket for the door prize drawing. Please join us for this fantastic meal!

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS: Please continue to bring in the school supplies for local schools for Donna’s project till the end of July. Our August project organized by Cindy Sue is a collection of toys for the Children’s Home. Thank you for your support.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! A special thank you to Donna & Fred McCutchen for their generous donations for the food and the entertainment for the Elvis night.

Our condolences to Vivian Thompson on the loss of her brother. Our condolences to Tammy Hodge on the loss of her mother. And our condolences to Cindy Sue Addison on the loss of her father. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Fraternally,

Gracie Krocka, Senior Regent
