MOOSE LEGION - THE DEGREE OF SERVICE
The Moose Legion Committee meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm. We have our dinner the first Saturday of the month. We belong to Orange Blossom Moose Legion #125 and the current President is Dave Murray, Sr. who is also our Moose Legion Secretary. Dave is also FBMA State Membership Chairman.
Our Moose Legion Committee has helped with donations toward items in the Lodge that needed replacing or repair as well as donating the smoke eating fans in the Lodge Hall, the Portico covering our front walk and the Markee in the front of the Lodge.
The second degree of the Loyal Order Of Moose, known as the Moose Legion, was organized in 1913 to furnish an opportunity for those members of the fraternity who desire to make further contributions to the Orders philanthropic objectives.
Becoming a Moose Legionnaire is the first step towards advancing to the higher degrees.
The Fellowship Degree of Honor, the third degree of the Loyal Order of Moose, is conferred on Moose Legionnaires by the Supreme Lodge, in recognition of their outstanding service to their Lodge and Fraternity. These members are recommended by the Lodge Selection Committee, however, Moose International confers the Degree!
The highest and most coveted degree of the Order, the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, is conferred on only one of about sixty-five hundred Moose members each year, in a solemn and impressive ceremonies held at the House of God on the campus of the famed Child City, Mooseheart,Illinois.
Only those who have compiled an outstanding record of meritorious and extraordinary service to the Order over a period of many years and have exhibited leadership ability receive this distinction.
