April 8, 2006 - Our first repeat... Ladies day at the range. A great time learning about gun safety and being instructed by professional marksmen, trainers, police officers, swat team members etc. So to say the least we were taught by the best and were given the opportunity to shoot at least 40 different types of weapons. There were revolvers, automatics, shot guns, rifles, black powder guns, and the list goes on. Once the safety class was completed you could sample as little or as much as you wanted and we were even treated to some hotdogs and chips by the folks at the Central Florida Pistol and Rifle Club. This was a fabulous day warm and clear with a slight breeze.

March 11, 2006 - We had an early St Patrick's Day celebration by having luch at Fiddler's on the Green Irish Pub. We embibed on the drink and taste of the Irish food. After lunch we went to the Morse Museum of Art to take in a taste of culture specializing in Tiffany glass and pottery pieces and we were really treated by a tour by Moe. A great time was had by all.

Feb 26, 2006 - We have been invited to an Orlando Magic vs Houston Rockets game. This event we purchased tickets directly from the Magic office at a special discount and since a lot of red hatters were invited, I am not certain of the participation.

February 25, 2006 - 9 of us were in the George Washington Parade in Eustis. Our float was one of the best one there so we have been told. We threw about 3000 strands of beads and many pounds of candies to those watching. Young and old alike turned out for this annual event followed by a fair and craft show with side line entertainment. Our float was decorated with a patriotic theme and then topped off with 3 large red umbrellas one resembling a hat. It was terrific.

January 14, 2006 - A group of 27 went to Fort Lauderdale for our first overnight trip. We went on the Jungle Queen Dinner cruise and followed up the next day with a visit to the King Tut Exhibition. A good time was had by all. We gawked like an Egyptian

December 3, 2005 - ICE at the gaylord Palms Hotel. The halls and everything in the rooms was made of ice sculpted by Chinese artisans. We braved the 9 degrees weather in there and we enjoyed the exhibits and then we all went and warmed up over lunch.

November 20, 2005 - we were invited to join a mass of Red hatters at the Festival of trees at the Museum of art in Loch Haven. The rooms were packed with all kinds of holiday trees. A great place to go for ideas.

November 12, 2005 - A small but mighty group went to Mt Dora to get a jump on holiday shopping. In true red hat fashion we lunched at Pices Rising.

October 22,2005 - We met a couple of groups at a German Restuarant in Sanford then proceeded to the Fab Follies. The Fab Follies are an entertaining group of men and women the younges is 55. They sang and danced wearing sequined costumes right into our hearts.

September, 2005 - No event due to tragic hurricane Katrina.

August 20, 2005 - 6 members went to the Nursing home Life Care and assisted members there in decorating red hats. They seemed to enjoy the project very well as did we. The hats were very cute and imagination ran a muck between our members and the patients. One man really wanted to come in but wouldn't, he just wanted a hat for his daughter so we in true red hat fashion made one for his daughter as well. He was very pleased and even put the hat on for a photo.

August 13, 2005 -7 members went to enjoy Marcys Kind offer of a day at New Smyrna Beach and take advantage of her beautiful Condo. You go right out her sliding glass doors and you are approximately 12 feet from the sand and the ocean. What a perfect location. Some enjoyed the refreshing pool and others visited and everyone embibed in good eats. After our day we went to JB Fish Camp and enjoyed a dinner before we all went our separate ways. It was a good day for all.

July 23, 2005 - 8 Members went to the Titanic Exhibiton for a Chilling Experience. The museum not only takes you through the details of that tragic voyage but also gives you insight to the people on board and some of their stories. We all received a ticket with the name of a passenger on that voyage with all their details, name, age, class, where they were traveling from and to. At the end of the tour you get to find out if you survive. Fortnately I did. After browsing the gift shop off to Lulu's Bait Shack we went. Had a very nice lunch and since the weather was moving in we all opted to head home after lunch. All in all I think everyone enjoyed this event. If you missed it, try to take it in sometime on International Drive right here in Orlando.

July 2, 2005 - 11 Members were at our Picadilly luncheon gathering. Our agenda was rather brief. We picked royal names and got volunteers for new jobs and also volunteers to set up October and November events. The overnight trip to Fort Lauderdale was discussed and since the King Tut Exhibit is here for the last time, we are opening up our guests to include men and children that are old enough to enjoy what they are seeing. The female guests are to wear a red or pink hat and purple or lavender shirts. The men can wear red pink purple or lavender shirts doesnt matter the age just so they fit in with us. They would need to wear the colors when we are at the dinner cruise and the exhibit if possible so we can find each other. I dont want to make it a hardship for our guests to join us. We briefly reviewed our near future events as well. The Picadilly sure does take care of us when we are there. Cudos to them. June 18, 2005 - 13 Members went to Clermont to the Lake Ridge Winery. We tasted their wine, we took a tour, we visited the arts and craft vendors, for one brave red hatter who stomped grapes in a competition, we enjoyed food and music not to mention we simply enjoyed each other's company. In other words, a good time was had by all. The rains were threatening, but due to an early start we managed to get it all in before the weather was a concern. We are at a time in our chapter where we have been together a few times and the sistership bonds are forming. We just enjoy the friendship of each other.

May 28, 2005 - Win Lose or Draw, a good time was had by the 10 members who took advantage of our event on the Stirling Gambling boat which was arranged by Joyce Stover. We all did our thing which included the gaming tables, slot machines, entertainment, food and some even soaked up the sun on deck. Following our cruise in true mad hatter fashion we went to EAT at the Sunset Grill in Cocoa Beach. The food was good the service was good and the company was extradionaire! If you were not there you missed a great time.

April 24, 2005 - In honor of Red Hat Society day we had 14 members go to Mt Dora for an Adorable Day. We ate at Ceciles a french restaurant. And shopped at all the boutiques and antique stores that line the streets of the downtown area. And in honor of the anniversary of the first tea we met at the Windsor tea room for tea and dessert. Went over to the park to take a nice group picture and enjoyed the live music from the French restaurant and found ourselves dancing in the park. A fabulous time was had by all with 10 new members this month. This event was planned by Judy R and she rewarded all with a survival kit for red hatters. If you missed our event today you missed another good time.

April 9, 2005 - Ladies Day at the Range...What a fabulous Day we had. If you were not there, you really missed a great day! The Central Florida Pistol and Gun CLub had a day of shooting for women who have never shot a gun or have limited shooting abilities. We started the day with a basic safety class. We were provided safety glasses and ear protection and a water bottle to prevent dehydration. Then we were free to go try any guns they had which were in excess of 40 guns. You were given one on one instruction by the professionals who are trained to do so, many are police or swat team members. We took advantage of the food from the Buffalo Lips Cafe which consisted of some great barbecued burgers and hotdogs cooked in the great outdoors. We originally were going to a restaurant when we finished shooting, but everyone was having so much fun that we stayed until the bitter end. As a result of some emails with another new red hat group in the area, they decided to take advantage of the day as well. It was their first event. As an added perk, two of our very own were on the evening news. Susan Branan who was quite a sharp shooter and they showed her and her target full of holes and Marcy Kenwood who was on the news actually shooting. These are two new members to our group and they had quite a first day. This extra event was planned by the Queen MAMA JO

March, 2005 - Our Event Planner was unable to plan our March event.

February 26, 2005 - Our first event was the George Washington Parade in Eustis. We had two trucks we decorated and we were greeted by the kind folks in Eustis as well as other Red Hatters that were in the parade. We tossed candy and beads out to the patrons who came out to view the parade. After the event we went to Crazy Gator for lunch. Some also took advantage of the craft fair and carnival that took place in the park. We discussed what a good time we had and have decided to make this an annual event. Event Planner - Lina Czarina of Vice

January 15, 2005 - Our first gathering. This was an initial meeting to see if there was interest in becoming a menber of our local chapter. 14 were in attendance and 14 registered. Our annual local chapter dues are $20 per calendar year ending December 31. The guidelines were discussed. At all events you will wear the regalia or Red hats and purple clothing, if you are under 50 you weare pink hats and lavender clothing. The club is for women over 21. No men and No Children at our events.

October 23, 2004 - The Mad Hatters of Central Florida is registered with the Red Hat Society
