Monthly meeting minutes of November 7th, 2009

Commodore Wayne Starr,called the November Monthly Meeting to order at 11:00am. 15 members were present.

Prior Meeting's Minutes

Motion was made and seconded to waive the reading of the prior meeting's minutes as they appear in our Web site.

Treasurer's Report: Secretary/Treasurer Alex Sanders, reported that the Club remains in excellent financial condition. The club made a small donation to the “Heart Association” in the name of Willes Mc’Culloch. His wife Ann mailed us a thank you note.

In addition we purchased wood for the stairs at the Vineyard pond and new heavy duty rope and weights for all the markers. Frank and Laura build the stairs and Jack and Dick replaced the markers

Four new members joined our club since April, they are: Laura Niehus; Richard Ohreck: Pat Flannery and Gerald Seiff. As a reminder, membership dues are due by December 31, 2009.

Current membership stands at 63, similar to last year.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Race Chairman, Dick Hedderick, presented the Race Schedule for 2010 and also the Soling fleets(Red and Blue). He has put the top sailors in the red fleet and the rest in the blue fleet. The purpose of this was to give blue skippers a chance to win trophies. He will also review request for skippers to move from the blue fleet to the red fleet. Several questions were asked and then the schedule and Soling changes were approved.

Frank Novak ask that the Sea Wind class be allowed to sail at the Vineyards. Jack Wubbe requested he and Frank discus this possibility after the meeting.

Frank ask when the Soling races between our club and Punta Gorda is scheduled. It has always been on the two holidays in Jan. and Feb. which are on Mondays

Reported that the fun sailing schedule up to the beginning of the counted races (week of January 18th) has been entered in our Website. The Schedule for the Counted Race will be enter soon, Dick is in the process selecting Race Director's and Assistant's.

Old Business Discussed Demo day with Village Walk and Randy Williams will set it up. NMYC has an classified Ad section in our Web site to assist members in selling model boats. This is free to our members, non members may enter an ad at a cost of $15.00 per ad.

NEW BUSINESS

Participating in Hobby show at Cypress Marketplace was discussed and several members agreed to go and sail their boats. Dave will send out e-mail to all members.

It was moved and approved to change the December meeting from 12/5 to 12/12 and the January meeting from 1/2 to 1/9.
