Notes from Classmates
Hi Lynn,
I was looking at the pictures from the last reunion and it looks like you had a blast. I am anxious to hear what you have planned.
Kathy Hermann Anderson
For those of you who are Perry Junior High School graduates, Lynn asked me to post the following announcement.
Dear Peg,
This morning I was informed that my oldest friend, Sally Worthington Esber, passed away last night, Mar 24, 2009. Sally and I had known each other almost 50 years, as we were in Girl Scouts together while still in grade school. She lived on the other side of Davie Blvd and went to Parkway. Sally enrolled in Nova with us in 1964 but decided after one year it just wasn't her cup of tea. She was really smart but not necessarily educationally motivated! :) Anyway, she tranferred to Stranahan and graduated in 1966 also. I believe she then attended Florida Atlantic and graduated in 3 years during which time she met and married the love of her life, Jon Esber.
They spent a few early years with Jon in the Army and then settled in Dallas and have lived there ever since. Jon is a successful pathologist at a Dallas hospital. They chose never to have children but Sally spent many years caring for her mother, an aunt, both of Jon's parents and numerous loveable canine pets. Luckily, they had the funding and desire to travel extensively and I know lived their life together to the fullest.
Recently "found" classmate Barry Friedlander wrote to Lynn today letting her know his uncle and our Math Department Head, Mr. Burt Kaufman, passed away in July 2007. Mr. Kaufman's name has been added to this site.
Fred Scheidler's wife writes to tell that another classmate has died. Our sympathy and best wishes go out to Fred's widow Carol and his family.
Dear Lynn,
I wanted to let you know about the death of one of your classmates. Although he did make it to the fabled 60 years, my husband, Fred Scheidler, class of 66, died July 15 of this year. They discovered that he had suffered for years from pulmonary fibrosis and by the time we noticed significant symptoms, it was too late even for symptomatic care. He was very proud of having been in the first class at Nova and credits the school with much of his success in later years. I hope you will all remember him at your next reunion and have a good time for him.
Thank you,
Carol Scheidler

Sorry I did not get to see everyone at the reunion last July. As you probably heard I had to go to Brazil on a pop up trip. Can’t wait until next spring to get life back under “my” control (retirement) or so I think!
Any way, just a short note so that you can change my email address on the master roster to armavia@sbcglobal.net .
We have bought property on Lake Chickamuga just north of Chattanooga, TN to retire on next year and hopefully the sbcglobal account will transfer there with AT&T’s purchase of BellSouth. I really dislike changing email address’s because I seem to always forget to notify the right people.
I have had two mini reunions with Bill and Linda Napier in Charlotte since the reunion and it was like we never lost contact soooooo…. Amazing. We had not seen each other since the late 60’s. I can only guess how the 40th was to meet and greet old friends again. Hope to be at the 45th, God willing. Take care and the best to you and yours.

Hello one and all,
A note from a long-lost alumni. I just happen to be fooling around on the internet and discovered this great site.
I am happy to say that I am alive and kicking and living in DC.
I left Florida finally a year ago to follow my one and only daughter, Samantha, to the great Washington, DC area. She is in pre-med at Georgetown and I couldn't live without her. I am working as an assistant for a former Ambassador at the RAND Corporation and enjoying every minute.
I still keep in touch with Clara (Rogers) Lynch...she being the better friend by keeping in touch with me on a regular basis. My life since high school was pretty boring until my daughter was born, 25 years ago. She is the one and only highlight of my life. She did an excellent job of raising me and I miss all those days I spent with her as a child.
But she is a wonderful grown up and still excels in everything she does. She graduated high school two years early, graduated Rollins College at 20 with honors and spent a few years working in DC and is now back in school for medicine. We are sharing an apartment to save on expenses and I intend to follow here wherever she goes.
I'm still the animal lover. We have one cat, a boxer and a 19 year old Bishon Frise. All rescues! I just lost my Mom this year. She was my rock and finally left me at 88. My best to all of you and my congratulations if you remember me! I wish you all the best! Love...

A few notes from the website administer.

The Nova Class of 1967 Reunion Committee is busy finding classmates for their 40th reunion this summer. Because some of their classmates were sibs of ours they are helping us with our missing classmates list too.
Sadly, Bernice McLacklan has been added to our Memoriam List at the bottom of our homepage site. She died of breast cancer at the age of 35. On a happier note, other classmates we may has a lead on are Tom Schott and Garry Grau.
Also please check out Kate Kennedy Butler's flash page added to the links section. In the near future Kate will have a full website to link to our site.
Candace Wright Sheelan, Class of 67 sends warm wishes to all
I hope our reunion in June 07 at the Yankee Clipper (June 29 - July 1)is as much fun as yours seems to have been! What a great looking group you are!
