Ancient mother
I hear you calling,

Ancient mother
I hear your sound.

Ancient mother
I hear your laughter,

Ancient mother
I taste your tears.

We have been given this sacred opportunity to learn and walk together in a good way.

Hold onto your honor by respecting the ways of your ancestors and never placing yourself above others.

You may have been taught one way to pray, but Creator may have given a different way to pray to another.

You may have been taught that there is only one way to walk this path and that only those like you have the right to learn.

Who is to say, however, that Creator is so limited by separating the two-leggeds at birth into the “worthy” and the “unworthy”?

What human here today has been granted the right to decide what Creator wants from us?

Each of us have a direct line to Creator through our hearts.

Our honor, our joy and our responsibility is to love one enough in a humble way and look for ways to protect our older brothers and sisters…

We are all related.

Presenters at International Women's Day - Indian Stuff 2004

Every month Indian Stuff opens its doors in a good way with spiritual and ancient lessons, interactive live music and native flute teachings, soul sharing and fun! There is never a charge for any of these gifts to the Community, however it is suggested that if you see a blanket covered chair placed off to the side, that in the indian way, this is our opportunity to show the band or performer that we enjoyed their art and throw a few dollars there to encourage them to return to us and this place of family:

Warrior Bard: Benjamin DeHart

Benjamin DeHart (sometimes with friends Charlie and Susan Chapman) offer a beautiful mix of early Florida (Cracker) and folk music that will have you stomping your feet one second, laughing in glee the next and crying with the history of this beautiful Land the next. The Warrior Bard has an exceptionally clear, pure Celtic tenor voice that carries you from the distant past to your own childhood and then back into your own heart. Come to Indian Stuff and ask about the music available from this local talent that we are so honored to call friends.

This is a singer with a voice so astounding that it could easily be labelled "folk opera." Once you hear this voice, you will never forget it! With his forceful guitar style, Dehart sends forth his appreciation for the cracker cowboy & their lives on the palmetto prairies. His first CD Warrior Bard has already attracted considerable attention over in the Orlando area. His latest release, due out in January, is aptly titled, Takin' Another Crack At It. Dehart is a native son with a cracker heart & a deep spiritual connection to all things musical, especially if it has to do with events or folks form Florida. Find out when he'll be performing again at Indian Stuff, and be there!

Beautiful selection of unique t-shirts at INDIAN STUFF... even some with everybody's favorite - Kokopeli!

Native People legend has it that when the Kokopeli comes playing his flute, the sun comes out, the snow melts, the green grass grows, the birds come out and begin to sing, and all the animals gather around to hear his songs. Kokopeli and his flute bring the Spring out of the Winter. Kokopeli embodies everything pure and spiritual about music. He was also thought of as a fertility god and traveling prankster. He would visit villages playing his flute, carrying his songs on his back. Everyone would sing and dance the night away. In the morning, when he left, the crops were plentiful and all the women were pregnant.

ON THE LAND – OUR MOTHER, THE EARTH
This idea allows Indian people to live in harmony with the world around them, to be part of it, co-existing without trying to dominate. Wah-kon-tah can be translated as, “the Great Mystery.” This belief is woven throughout the Sacred ways of many indigenous people. Though called by many names, “Sokoiatison or Wakonda or Nesaru or Kokumthena or Awonawilona or Manito,” the meaning remains the same – the Great Mystery, the one who spoke Creation.

We believe that the spirit pervades all Creation and that every creature possesses a soul in some degree, though not necessarily a soul conscious of itself. The tree, the waterfall, the grizzly bear, each is an embodied Force, and as such an object of reverence.
