WELCOME Welcome from the Red Hat Rosebuds of Hudson, Florida. Our chapter was started on November17, 2006. We are a unique sisterhood where everyone is queen for a day. We have many hatppenings throughout the month which the members can pick and choose what they want to attend. We have a craft group, a pinochle group, and recently we started a book club group called "Readem and Eat". The second Friday is our regular gathering which could be anything from teas, movies, museums or wine tasting party. |

A BIG WELCOME FROM THE RED HAT ROSEBUDS AN OFFICIAL RED HAT CHAPTER
The Red Hat Society is a social organization where there is FUN after fifty.
The idea for the Red Hat Society is based on the poem, "Warning" which begins, "When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple with a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me," and ends, "But maybe I ought to practice a little now" by Jenny Joseph.
This picture was taken in November, 2007 at our first anniversary/birthday party. Everyone is present! We had a NO TALENT SHOW. Zee had a splint on her arm wrapped in a red hat scarf. She was unable to do her special talent of juggling. I have her down as first on the line up for next year. Standing left to right: Dee, Annie, Sadie, Jeanette, Lois, Ann, Mary, Barbara, Sara. Sitting: Marie, Claudell, Zee, Marge, and Carole. In December all 14 of us went on a Carribean cruise together. What fun! The Rosebuds are about more than just doing lunch. We have something for everyone: A craft group, Pinochle group, Book Club group, plus we have one outting a month which includes food. Many of us golf together or play mah jongg together. The Rosebuds get to pick and choose their activities and can do as little or as much as they want each month. There will be NO grass growing under our feet! We embrace getting older but we refuse to grow up or get old! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET
Membership: Chapter's Founding Queen is Lois Walsh and
Reigning Queen for 2008-2009 is Lois Walsh, Queen by Default and Vice Queen is Ann Brand. Ann is in charge of scheduling monthly crafts.
The queen and vice queen position is for one year. The vice queen schedules crafts. On our chapter anniversary in Novemeber we elect a new queen and vice queen. This year no one would take the position so I am QUEEN BY DEFAULT.
By majority vote it was decided to limit membership to 14 members, therefore our chapter is closed at this time.
Rosebud Guidlines: Show up. Have fun. Do your share. Be kind.
Duties and Responsibilities: Each member will be queen for a day by hosting an event and earning her Queen for a Day badge complete with a sterling silver tiara. The hostess is responsibile for getting all the information out to members, including, price, directions, parking, etc. Members are to RSVP to the hostess. If you do not RSVP, you will be missed.
Each member will volunteer or be appointed a position or duty to help the group to run smoothly. Example postions are Hystarian who keeps our scrapbook, Songbird who leads our offical song and Head Ding-A-Ling who keeps order.
Regalia: Since we are a red hat group, a purple outfit and a red hat is to be worn. White or black pants are fine but one must wear purple top. If you don't wear a hat or colors then you are required to sing, "I'm a Little Tea Pot," and do the hand gestures. It was decided by the group, that anything worn on the head is a hat, therfore, red headbands, bows, caps, visors,and lampshades are fine. During your birthday month, colors are reversed and a red outfit and purple hat are worn. The queen has purple hats to loan if you do not have one. Dues: Dues are $20 and are collected in November or with new members at the time of her joining. The money will go toward the RHS membership renewal and expenses incurred in the operation of the chapter. Members will recieve a treasury's report in the monthly newsletter. Dues are not refundable if a member moves or leaves the group. If more money is needed then we will have a FUN Raiser such as 50/50, a silent auction, or yard sale. In Novemeber 2008 it was decided to suspend dues until money is needed, since we still have enough funds in our treasury.
Red is the color of passion and this color will not only bring out passion it will also give you engery. Purple gives a spirital feeling but the most beautiful royal attire is a SMILE.

Do laughing yoga and teach everyone around you to do it too. Skip to my lou. Excel in your age and savor your life. Eat dessert first. Put on a red hat and purple outfit and be outrageous! Commit random acts of silliness!

Sisters by choice not by birth. Good friends are hard to find, easy to love, and are a present that lasts forever. Sisters share their stories and their laughter and tears. I love my sisters!

The Joys Of Dieting
A diet is when you have to go to some length to change your width.
Diets are for people who are thick and tired of it.
