On October 20-21, 2007, Space Coast Model Sailing Club (SCMSC) hosted the Soling 1 meter region 3  regatta.

Fourteen  skippers arrived at Wickham park Melbourne Florida. AMYA  vice President Chuck Buzek & membership Secretary Michelle Dannenhoffer were both in attendance. There were many  spectators including Kyle Ebsutani from Hawaii.  After all skippers were greeted by Commodore  Bryan Fletcher and all boats were inspected and ready to sail, R. D.,  Adam Rottmann, held a skippers meeting and the 7 boats in the first heat were ready to sail promptly at 10:00 am.

A matrix system was used so only 7 boats were on the starting line at one time. This made starts less congested and scoring more manageable.  Weather was fair but winds were light.  This made for slow sailing, a challenge for even he best soling skippers. A break for lunch was aided by the use of the matrix. Skippers could sail while others were eating. A great barbeque was had by all with no complaints. In order to complete 24 heats, sailing continued till after 3 :00 pm.

On Sunday, the wind was not much better.  Skippers finished their 12 heats (6 each skipper) to complete the 36 heat matrix.  Scoring was completed and trophies were presented to the 5 first five place winners.  Pictures and a complete scouring can be viewed below.  The trophy finishes for the top four skippers were:

#1 - Jack Ward

#1 - Jack Wubbe

#1 - John Ebizi

#1 - Bob Montanari
