Welcome to Florida Footy
Footy Sailing only.

If you are a Footy fan,
you have come to the right place,
there are big plans for this site
to represent what is new in the
world of Florida Footy's. We will explore plans,
sail sets, clubs, regattas, and news in Footy rules.
We will record dates and places for regatta's
as we try and recruit new clubs for the
FFF series and expand participation.

.

Everything found here will be for the sole purpose of promoting this class
and having fun. A forum has been added for visitor input.Visitors will have
the ability to view the lastest news.
We can have a collaboration by allowing one editor per club to work on the site.
That will allow input from each club in our group
We can keep the site up to date with coming events, past event scores,
and images. We as a team can have the best union of clubs possible.
So.........lets keep it all footy

National Footy Championship

The link at left has the results from the event
Twenty two boats are competing at the first ever USA Footy National Championship Regatta held at www.sundaysloopers.com in Orlando, Florida. Boats from as far north as New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Virginia, Massachusetts and Carolina showed up for the event which also included skippers from a number of Florida clubs.

Winds started out light from the SSW in the morning during practice and for the first few races. As the day progressed, winds shifted to the SE and ESE and increased to an estimated 10 mph with mini-gusts hitting the pond occasionally. Skippers had to select one large sail for the two day event. It appeared that a few may have selected sails to large to handle the gusts as there were the typical out of control submarine events.

Ten races were completed on opening day with the following un-official results. Each skipper gets 1 throwout after 8 races and another throwout if another 8 races are completed, Results can be found at left. Respectfully Submitted

Mission Statement  This site is being developed to promote radio control Footy class boats and create camaraderie
amoung the skippers who have become addicted to building and sailing these wonderful little boats.
The spirit of the site is to have fun, share information and promote fun sailing events that will
attract new skippers to a wonderful and challenging world of Footys and nothing but Footys.

Featured Footy

Jim-Bob Footy

This Footy designed by Jim Chiles was an instant winner
and has become a staple for the Tanglewood group
It has proven itself to be a fierce competitor.

  Featured Skipper

John Egisi
John has definately made his presence known
to the Footy skippers of this area.
He finished first in the recent
FFF II series.

Message Board
Links to member clubs are listed at the left
as well as a link to a message board
for communication between clubs. This can be a
new channel for better communication between clubs.
  Unification
I believe this site will enable the unification for
Florida clube we have been in need of in the past.
It can put everyone on the same page with
event planning, dates, times, ideas.

Summary of things to come
OK!, I know these are big claims but with your help and participation it can be the source of information for our area.
So I guess it's all up to you and what you want and if you are willing to contribute to make it work.

The end result is that it will be a product of the amount of effort we as a group decide to put into it.
We can as a group also decide to ban anyone who decides to become negative input into the forum.
I think we all have seen enough of that on footy sites.
