FFFIV

Event Three of four was hosted at Firkin and Kegler in Orlando by the Sunday Sloopers.CFRCMSC
The day began with Sunshine and 75 degree weather. Wonderful day. What was supposed to be 5 to 10 Mph winds turned out to be about 15. There was a good turnout from various clubs in Central Florida. A total of 12 boats lined up for the 3rd leg of the series. Eleven of those boats finished ten races. Almost all boats sailed the same rig most of the races. No disputes and no race committee involvement. Sportsman's conduct seemed to be practiced by all. Another great event pulled off by the Sunday Sloopers.

Bill Kraftchak, Butch Bragg, George Reed

Final Scores

Shark Footy's captured 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place wins

Event Two of four hosted at Chain of Lakes Park by Titusville SPMSC
Leg 2 was held in Titusville on Saturday, December the 19th. We had a good turnout with 11 entries and brisk winds. It was a cold day by Florida standards with everyone showing up in coats. Every one suited up with their storm rigs or changed over if they started with something bigger. The boats were crankin down the back leg going down wind, sometimes lookin like ducks diving for fish. Very sportsman like conduct and lots of fun. There wasn't a single protest out of 17 races. Despite all the wind and sometimes uncontrollable boats there seemed to be no infractions. Most of the boats managed to complete the Regatta. Skippers and boats alike were challenged by strong gusts and cold weather.

1st place George Reed,............   2nd place Butch Bragg ............... 3rd place Jim Child

George Reed really pulled off a fantastic series of races with a final score of only 10.
Butch Bragg finished second with a score of 15.
Jim Child from the Tanglewood group squeezed a close third with a score of 20.
Bernie Ceilley of the Vero group placed fourth with a 26.
Dick Ruffe came in fifth after experiencing radio difficulties with a score of 30
Bill Kraftchak from Vero finished sixth sailing a borrowed boat. Score 35
Dave Griesse with sail difficulties slipped from his normal position of leading boats to 7th. with a score of 38.
Skip Shaw experiencing electrical problems throug-out the races finished 8th. Skip pulled off a bullet on one race.
Larry Tregear finished 9th
Stan Veit pulled in a 10th while learning to sail his new boat for the first time.
Bob Boisvert pulled out early and did not complete the races.

Event One of four hosted at Hobart Park

We are beginning a new FFF series which will be called FFF4. Originally it was scheduled for October but some of our skippers wanted to wait till November to give snowbirds an opportunity to sail in all the events. So Nov. 14 we scheduled the first event in Sebring. Frank Thorley of the Tanglewood group in Sebring a primary organizer was detained up North. That left us with the chore of finding an alternative. The Vero group graciously accepted the Nov. 14th date to kick off the series. I don't have definate dates for the next three events. I do have the month and location for those events.

I am waiting on Frank Thorley for a date in Dec. Orlando will host in January and Titusville in February.
Footy Nationals will be held in Orlando on March 13th and 14th.

This site is being developed to promote radio control Footy class boats and create camaraderie
amoung the skippers who have become addicted to building and sailing these wonderful little boats.
The spirit of the site is to have fun, share information and promote fun sailing events that will
attract new skippers to a wonderful and challenging world of Footys and nothing but Footys.

Featured Footys

This Footy called Shark, designed by Butch Bragg
has become popular with the Titusville group.

This Footy designed by Jim Chiles was an instant winner
and has become a staple for the Tanglewood group
It has proven itself to be a fierce competitor.

Message Board
Links to member clubs are listed at the left
as well as a link to a message board
for communication between clubs. This can be a
new channel for better communication between clubs.
 Unification
I believe this site will enable the unification for
Florida clubs and the FFF.
It can put everyone on the same page with
event planning, dates, times, ideas.

Summary of things to come
OK!, I know these are big claims but with your help and participation it can be the source of information for our area.
So I guess it's all up to you and what you want and if you are willing to contribute to make it work.

The end result is that it will be a product of the amount of effort we as a group decide to put into it.
We can as a group also decide to ban anyone who decides to become negative input into the forum.
I think we all have seen enough of that on footy sites.
