Thank You

Dear Members and Friends of the Kiwanis Club of Springtime City in Clearwater, Florida

Please participate in this Fundraiser as our Kiwanis club can/will raise serious money if all of your family, friends and co-workers step through the process. No money is really necessary as you will move a small sum to a new account. Just 15 minutes at the bank to open a new checking account with maybe $100 or so until December 31, 2007 which is less than 4 months. If you already have an account, you can open a new account (Christmas account). You do not need any checks and the debit card is FREE.

Yes, I am a Proud member of this Kiwanis club and would LOVE and APPRECIATE your support because our/my club really provides outstanding service within Clearwater. Thank You!

Our club has a goal of having 50 to 100 members, family and friends of members participate where we can raise $5,000 to $10,000 where 100% of the funds will go directly to our club's service projects.

SunTrust Bank which have branches in AL, AR, WDC, FL, GA, MD, MI, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA and WV currently has a special promotion for 501(c)3 organizations going on NOW to accomplish their goals:

  1. To acquire new accounts
  2. To acquaint the new account holders with the services provided by SunTrust,
  3. To have some of the new accounts remain after the promotion.

While it is true that the account does not have to stay open beyond the end of the year, those who wish to may continue the account beyond that time.

From August 6 through December 31, 2007, customers who open a new SunTrust Personal or Business Checking account, accept a new SunTrust Visa® Check Card and make any purchase with it by February 15, 2008, will be empowered to make a choice: Choose for SunTrust to donate $100 to their favorite nonprofit organization (it must be a 501(c)(3) organization as recognized by the IRS).

If you plan to open a checking account between August 6 and December 31, 2007, we encourage you to consider becoming eligible for SunTrust’s My Cause promotion and request that you donate $100 in your name to our organization, Kiwanis Club of Springtime City Foundation, Inc.

SunTrust has made this process very easy for us as a nonprofit organization, and for you as a supporter.
Here are some quick and easy tips to help you through this process:

  1. Go to your nearest SunTrust branch and open any type of checking account (personal or business) prior to December 31, request a SunTrust Visa® Check Card, and use it to make any purchase by February 15, 2008.
  2. After opening the checking account, please visit suntrust.com/mycause. This web site will provide you with a redemption form and a chance to designate our organization, Kiwanis Club of Springtime City Foundation, Inc., as the recipient of the $100 donation. You can also call 866.266.2802 to complete your form via phone. You must submit the completed redemption form by February 15, 2008.
  3. All donations will be mailed in April 2008 to our club's foundation.
  4. If you have any questions about the promotion or would like more information, you can visit suntrust.com/mycause or email dale@tindall.net

We encourage you to help us spread the word about this promotion to your friends, family, personal and business contacts. The more people who are aware of the promotion and its offering, the greater the opportunity for us to receive donations from you and the rest of the community.

Much like the name “My Cause” implies, contributing to a charity is a personal decision. For this reason we appreciate your continued support and are thankful you would consider a donation to our organization.

Yours in Kiwanis Service,
Kiwanis Club of Springtime City in Clearwater, Florida

P.S. Please reply to the sender of this email that you plan on participating and we will communicate back to you to ensure that you follow each step in the process so our club truly benefits. Your email will only be used for this fundraiser. Limit one entry per household or business (and if you own a business, you may open an account for personal and business purposes and if the entire process is followed for both accounts, our club's foundation will be rewarded with $200. Thank You!

We are celebrating our 50th Year of Service in Clearwater. We meet every Thursday for dinner at 6PM at the Long Center which is just north of the railroad tracks and south of the Salvation Army Church on Belcher Road.
Half way between NE Coachman and Sunset Point roads.

We roll up our sleeves to help!

We Make It Count In Clearwater!

Yes, we are a dinner club that does more than eat dinner and enjoy great Kiwanis fellowship! Everyone of our members participates on one or more committees.

KIWANIS STANDING COMMITTEES: Community Services, Spiritual Aims, Sponsored Youth, Young Children Priority One and Youth Services.

Kiwanis serves the entire community. The children and youth are our highest priority and benefit through our many service projects including the Annual Children Health Fair, summer camp sponsorships, SPC scholarships, weekly reading to Head Start children, Ed Wells, Jr and Tri-City Classic Track Meets, Turnaround students Recognition Party, Clearwater Competitive Basketball League, food and dinners to needy on Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, Christmas gifts to many needy kids including children identified by Isaiah's Inn, North Clearwater's Performing Arts Summer Camp, Blooming Place for Kids, Clearwater Free Clinic, Community Service Foundation, Sheriff's Youth Ranch, Project Graduation and other causes which benefit the children and youth in Clearwater. Each year, we must raise and invest over $25,000 for our club’s Service Projects.

Other events include: Outback Bowl Beach Day, Ironman, Salvation Army bell ringers, Paint Your Heart Out Clearwater, All Children's Hospital telethon and Clearwater Police Bicycle Jamboree.

Our club has a 501©3 foundation which is a vehicle for those in our community to make a tax deductible donation and help support our 20+ Service Projects completed each year. If you are interested in making a donation, please contact one of our members. Endowments to honor a loved one or support a favorite concern, like scholarships, are honored. The Puleo Endowment is a gift of $50,000.00 from the school librarian in Seminole, and only the income from the fund is used to help fund SPC scholarships. The fund will last forever. Most importantly, 100% of your donated funds go directly to service projects benefiting the local community, through our club’s service projects. None of the funds are used for club administration nor are salaries or commissions paid.

We Ask For and Appreciate Your Support!

Kiwanis International policy is to be open to all members of the community. If you would like to be considered for membership in our Kiwanis Club of Springtime City or one of the other 19 Kiwanis Clubs in Pinellas County, please tell the bearer of this letter or visit one of our club meetings.

Our Kiwanis Club through our 501c3 Foundation has participated with Birdies for Charity ever since the PGA Tour has been playing at Innisbrook in Tarpon Springs.

To Date we have raised over $30,000 from this program.

General Description

Birdies for Tampa Bay Charities® is a multi-level fundraising program designed to give participating charities the opportunity to generate contributions for their organization based on the number of "birdies" made by the contestants during the Chrysler Championship. The program has two primary components:

  • Solicitation of Pledges from Individuals and/or Corporations "Guess the Birdies" Contest

  • Charities receive 100% of all paid pledges solicited on their behalf. In addition, all paid pledges will share in our BONUS POOL. THE BONUS POOL FOR 2005 IS GUARANTEED AT A 30% BONUS FOR THE FIRST $1,000,000 IN PAID PLEDGES RECEIVED! ALL PAID PLEDGES RECEIVED AFTER WE REACH $1,000,000 WILL RECEIVE A 10% BONUS.

The primary goal of the Birdies for Tampa Bay Charities® program is to successfully solicit and collect pledges of one (1) cent or more or a one time minimum donation of $10.00 or more from the General Public and/or Corporate Donors for every "birdie" made during the Chrysler Championship (Thursday through Sunday of tournament week). In the event the Chrysler Championship is less than a 72-hole event a $.0l donation will be valued at $10.00 (with other donations pro-rated accordingly).

In golf, a "Birdie" is a score of one stroke better than "Par" for any golf hole on the golf course. "Par" is the normal expected score of a golf professional on any given hole.
