On May 9, 2008, the Red Hat Tomatoes sponsored a Literary Tea at Borders Bookstore at the Treasure Coast Mall. Each Red Hatter was treated to the following: 16 oz ceramic Red Mug - Theirs to keep following the event. 1 Medium Hot Tea Prepared in a proper pot - Oh so chic! Savory Two-cheese, sundried tomato sandwich, served toasted! Lemon Berry Cobbler, 2 Chocolate covered graham crackers, 3 Milk chocolate Lindor Truffles, 1 Chocolate Red Hat Pop. There were raffle prizes and a Red Hat Split. There were 50 women attending!

There were three (3) Red Hat Split winners of $25.00 each. Fifteen (15) raffle/door prizes were given out. Barbara Beach of the Red Hat Tomatoes was the first to pay and was rewarded with the Red Hat Society Cookbook.

Chapters attending included: Pizazzy Pineapples, Capella Rosa, Red Hattitudes of PLV, Red Hat Tomatoes, Foxy Red Hatters, Lucie Goosies and Scarlet Vamps.

6th ANNUAL RED HATS OF FLORIDA DAY AT PORT CANAVERAL

On May 16, 2008, Red Hatters from all over Florida celebrated the 6th Annual Red Hats of Florida Day at Port Canaveral. There was a dockside Party starting at 9am. A Casino Cruise followed from 11am – 4pm. There was fruit and rolls and Champaign Mimosa’s and Bloody Marys. The entertainment was “Marilyn Monroe” and “Connie Frances” and they were both very good. I hear that 2 Red Hatters did win $2500 Jackpots. One of them was a member of the Hurricane Hatters. Chapters attending were: Red Hot Visors of SLW, Lake Charles Classy Redkettes, Friends to the End of Fort Pierce, Foxy Red Hatters, St. Lucie Red Hat Belles, Hurricane Hatters and Crimson Chapelere.
