MY PERSONAL BELIEF
Still Under Contstruction, however if I don't start somewhere...

It's hard to clasify my personal "religious" beliefs. I certainly belong to no "church" or predescribed "religion". I follow the red road, under a Cherokee influence guided by my mother the keeper of our lodge. Now that is not to say that I believe all of the Cherokee legends and stories or even that I agree with all of their principles. Simply that I have found in the lodge a spirituality that satisfies me. I believe existence continues after death, I believe we are all connected, I believe that all things consist of energy and that it is possible to manipulate that energy. I believe an objective morality exists, a morality that can be perceived through the use of reason and empathy not through dictation.

I've always believed that when it comes to the spiritual, to the inherintly unprovable, the mistake so many people make is by claiming knowledge of the ultimate truth. You'll find this with most religions, even the "pagan" ones. People walking around with tightly held beliefs that wear blinders to any possibility that does not fall within their preconceived notions of how the universe functions. The mentallity frightens me.

THE BIBLE
Again, still under construction but a start...

The Holy Word of God. *sigh* To me, the worst mistake ever made by man, much less religion. My problems with the Bible, both new and old testiment, are numerous but must concern the general ideas and thought patterns portrayed. They frighten me beyond belief. Not to say that the Bible doesn't have its good points. It most certainly does. What I'm saying is that a honest, balanced approach must be taken when pondering its philosophy. People are quick to point out the relaxed and groovy ideals Jesus taught (for the most part) and are equally quick to ignore or rationalize the brutality, immorality and elitism in the rest of the "Holy" book. The God portrayed in the Bible is not an entity I would want to even associate with, much less worship.

More on this to come

Here is an e-mail I just received via the comments section here on this site. I post it here undedited.

COMMENT OR QUESTIONS... hello, I would like to comment on Christianity.Christianity has no faults.Christianity is flawless.If everybody followed Jesus' teachings there would not be fighting on this earth not even in the least sense.

Hypocrites do not void out Christianity nor do they change Christianity but Christianity is always the same no matter how people act.

Jesus said do not verbally assault someone even if they verbally assault you. Do not physically assault someone even if they physically assault you. Love your enemies and feed and clothe your enemies. Do not fight for the kingdom of God by physical force. Jesus said that the hypocrites do not belong to Him.

There is no such thing as a hypocritical christian because a person cannot be a hypocrite and a christian at the same time. If they are a Christian they cannot be a hypocrite.If they are a hypocrite they cannot be a Christian.

A Christian is someone who acts like Jesus.If a person does not act like Jesus then they are not a Christian.

Christianity does not have any faults and only people who act like Jesus are Christians and belong to Him.

Hypocrites do not void out Christianity nor do they change Christianity.Christianity is the same no matter how people act. You can never blame Christianity because of how people act because Christianity is the same no matter how people act and they are not part of Christianity if they do not act right but people of the world who will claim to be with God but do not want to do what is right.

If everybody followed Jesus' teachings there would not be fighting on this earth not even in the least sense and people who claim to be with Christ and do not act like Him are not a part of His kingdom so how they act cannot reflect on Christianity.

Christianity is the same no matter how poeple act.Christianity is without fault.

The Catholic church fighting for the kingdom of God on earth or anybody else that fought for the kingdom on earth did wrong for Jesus said not to fight for the kingdom of God by physical force.

People who were cruel wanted to use Christianity for their own purpose for power or influence but it does no reflect on Christianity to make it look bad for those people did not go by Christianity in the right capacity. People who claim Christianity but do not act right does not change Christianity and it does not void out Christianity and it does not reflect badly on Christianity for Christianity is the same no matter how people act. Christianity is without fault and Christianity is flawless and perfect in morals. You cannot blame Christianity for how people act because Christianity is Christianity and Christianity does not change no matter how people act. You can blame people who claim to be with Christ but do not act right but you cannot blame Christianity for Christianity is without fault and Christianity is the same no matter how people act. If people act wrong it does not reflect on Christianity because they would be acting like the world and not as a Christian.

God is love and God loves all people.The love that Jesus showed while on this earth is the same love that applies now.Jesus did not come to harm anyone and that same love applies now.

God is not punishing anybody.God only touches people for good and never evil.God never touches people for evil but only good.

God gave us a choice so God lets things run their natural course and will only touch people for good.God will take away the problems if man is obedient to Him to make the choice to do good all the time.God who is good all the time will not work in a person's life unless they are willing to do good all the time.The reason is we have a choice so we have to make the choice to do good all the time for God to work for our good but God will never touch you for evil no matter how you act,but if you are not willing to do good all the time then He will not work in your life because you made the choice not to be good all the time but God will never touch you for evil.

All problems come from man and their wrong choices and God is always willing to straighten them out if they are willing to do good all the time.God causes no problems and all problems come from man.God never touches a person for evil.

God is always willing to do good in a person's life and only touches people for good.

God said all wars come from man and their lust for power.God does not cause any wars.All problems on earth are from man and God is always willing to straighten them out if people would do good all the time but if people want to be selfish and arrogant then they have made the choice not to follow God.God will not touch anybody for evil but if you do not do it His way then you do not have His support.

God said love works no evil towards their neighbor therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.If you love people perfectly then you have fulfilled God's law.Simple as that.If you do not have love for people then you are not right with God to have His help and God's definition of love is stricter than man's definition of love.Man's definition of love will leave them short of God's definition of love.

God said sell all you have and give it to the poor.If you see somebody that has need and have money and only say I love you then the love of God does not dwell in you.Love does not puff itself up,is not arrogant and does not brag about itself.Does not put people down but lifts them up to their level.Love does not think an evil thought so you know you cannot do the evil act.Love is kind and merciful.

If you do not measure up to God's love then you have no part in the kingdom of God.

Now how many people you know who truly love people.Very few people will not be selfish and arrogant,not think an evil thought,not talk about anybody,not love this world or the things in this world,will not act better than someone else.will generally not sin.

There are many hypocrites but it does not reflect badly on Christianity.The main thing is you cannot blame Christianity for how people act because Christianity is blameless.Christianity is the same no matter how people.Hypocrites do not void out Christianity nor do they change Christianity.

A hypocrite is someone of the world not the kingdom of God who claims to be with Christ but does not do right.If they are doing wrong they are not being a Christian so it cannot reflect badly on Christianity because Christianity means doing good all the time,perfect love for people.Anybody that does not act like Christ is not a Christian so it cannot reflect badly on Christianity. mpaper345

For now I'll just say, this guy is not helping his case.

DESIDERATA
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant, they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter,
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with Creator,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
