Great Recipes! Hoorah! We have our first recipe submission. Thank you Beth Walters for sharing your yummy recipe with us. For those that were in attendance at the Steering Team Retreat you already know this is a good one. OREO & BROWNIE TRUFFLE You will need the following: 1 large box Oreo pudding mix (make according to package directions) 1 large container of Cool Whip (refrigerated) 1 package Oreo cookies (broken up by hand... you want big pieces) 1 box of Brownies of your choice (make according to package directions) 1 Clear plastic or glass large bowl Once the pudding has set (10 minutes) and the brownies cool off, cut the brownies into 1 inch cubes. 1st layer is half of the brownies, 2nd layer is half of the Oreo pudding, 3rd layer is 1/3 of the broken up Oreos, and 4th layer is half of the Cool Whip. Repeat all layers and then top with the remaining 1/3 of Oreos. This is a treat for kids of all ages... my husband loves it with a big glass of milk. Here is another delicious submission by Beth Walters. She sent this with the warning that they are addictive! Combine sugar, milk, butter and cocoa powder in a pot and bring to a full boil for 1 minute; trying to time accurately. Turn off heat and add the salt, vanilla and blend in peanut butter and oatmeal. Submitted by Angela Hood: TIRED MOMMA PIE 1 can apple pie filling, 1 yellow or spice cake mix, 2 sticks of melted butter In 13x9 glass dish empty pie filling, sprinkle dry cake mix over filling, pour melted butter over mix, sprinkle with your choice of nuts, raisins, or coconut. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Top with ice cream if it’s been an especially rough day. Thank you to Kristen Sharp for submitting the two yummy recipes below! NACHO DIP 1 lb. ground beef (or sausage), browned 1 lb. velveeta cheese 1 can cream of celery (or cr. of chicken) soup 1 can mild enchilada sauce cayenne pepper to taste Brown beef or sausage in a large skillet, then drain. Cut cheese into cubes, then add remaining ingredients to skillet or large pot and stir on low to medium heat until cheese is melted and everything is mixed well. Cayenne pepper, or other favorites, can be added for more spice. This is best kept on warm in a crock pot for get-togethers and is great with corn chips! FLORIDA ORANGE BALLS (no-bake) 1 package vanilla wafers, crushed 1/2 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed (not diluted) 3/4 cup sifted confectioner's sugar 3/4 cup shredded coconut 1/2 cup chopped pecans Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, mixing with hands. Shape into balls. Roll in confectioner's sugar (a separate amount than in the recipe) Store in refrigerator. Makes 3-4 dozen, depending on size of rolled cookie balls. ********************************************************** We anxiously await your delicious submissions!
