2008 ASR Update tournament fee for 2008 is $435.00
The Youth Sports News All Star Rec Tournament Series is thrilled to announce exciting changes for the 2008 season.
First off, we begin by opening the 2008 season January 11th-13th at the newly renovated USA's SKATEPLEX in Temple Terrace. The former Terrace Sports rink has been completely gutted from top to bottom. Brand new boards and glass and a full service concession stand & pro shop are just some of the many changes to the facility. The Tampa Bay Lightning will be setting up in the parking lot with games and giveaways to help kickoff 2008 for both ASR Hockey and Skateplex.
Next, after much research and many conversations with players, parents, coaches and club presidents, it has become clear that the ASR had become a little stale in 2007. The chief complaint? Playing the same teams over and over again. Much of this had to do with the over saturation of the Tampa Bay area hockey market with too many local area tournaments fielding the same teams. With that in mind, ASR Hockey will be heading south for part of the 2008 season. The second event of the year will be February 22nd - 24that the recently upgraded FORT MYERS SKATIUM. The Skatium features a newly renovated full size inline rink, an ice rink, full service concession stand and video arcade. There is also an extreme skate park on site.
Centrally located, the Skatium is just 2 hours south from Skateplex and 2.5 hours east from SkateZone in Lake Worth. Situated right off I-75, the move south will insure fresh faces for the 2008 season.
