Welcome to 30th Avenue Preschool.

30th Avenue Preschool is a facility that is part of the Muscogee County School District and the only school serving preschool-age (3-5 year old) students exclusively. Our school has three Lottery-funded Pre-K classes and five STEPS (Special Training for Exceptional Preschool Students) classes. Our staff consists of three Regular Education Pre-K teachers, five STEPS teachers, the STEPS Program Lead Teacher, two Preschool Psychologists, three Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), two Itinerant Special Education teachers, an Occupational Therapist (OT), and a Physical Therapist (PT). Each teacher also has a paraprofessional that works with them in the classroom or within the community. Of course, no school would be complete without our secretary, custodian, and the cafeteria ladies from Martin Luther King (MLK) Elementary, who serve our students breakfast and lunch.

PIE - Partners In Education

All MCSD schools are partners with at least one business and/or civic group in Columbus. The program provides additional human resources to each school in furthering the educational goals of the district.

First Baptist Church of Columbus became our partner during the 2001-2002 school year. Over the years, First Baptist Church has provided readers on a weekly basis, given each child a gift during the Christmas and Easter holidays and delivered a cupcake and birthday "surprise" to each teacher and staff member during their birthday month.

An End-of-the-Year cookout has also been provided for the students and staff during the last week of school. Hotdogs, hamburgers and special treats were enjoyed by all.

The Gold Achievement Award has been given to First Baptist Church over the past several years, which has been much deserved for all they have done for the students and staff of 30th Avenue Preschool.

We look forward to continuing our relationship with First Baptist Church and can hardly wait to see what they have planned for us in the future!

Let Us Introduce Ourselves

30th Avenue Preschool is very fortunate to have a collaboration of regular education and special education teachers and staff who work together to give all our preschoolers the best education possible. We strive to mainstream special needs students into the regular classroom, and show regular education students that all children are able to learn, just at a different pace or on a different level.

Below, as well as within the left column, you can click to find out more about our staff within the two programs that make up 30th Avenue Preschool. Also, be sure to take a look at our school pets under the "Preschool Pets" link.
