September 13, 2006
In attendance: Cheryl Ludwick, Michele Rocque, Brad Raborn, Fran Cagle, Erin Rosenthal, Ashlee Odom, Connie Martinez, Jessica Callan, Susan Davis, Liza Killough, Tarynn Josey
Minutes from the August 14 meeting were approved. Minutes will be e-mailed to Tarynn Josey as an attachment so they can be available as a link on the PTO website.
Santa Shop and Carnival Committees will be meeting on 9/19 from 6-7 p.m. in the cafeteria. There is still a need for Fundraising Committee volunteers.
Art to Remember fundraiser was discussed. Student projects would be completed through their art time. It would take about a five week process. The committee approved trying this before Christmas.
Faculty Follies update: 9/28, from 7 - ? p.m. Robyn Flowers will be on hand to set up the sound system. Ashlee Odom and Jessica Callan will run the sound system. Set up crew: Liza Killough, Marcia Henderson; Refreshments: Gloria Cruse, Michele Rocque; Ticket Sales: Joy Collman, Susan Davis; Break down crew: Susan Davis, Fran Cagle. Due to kitchen use restrictions, desserts only will be available, purchased either from Sams or Chick-fil-A. A small number of faculty and staff have volunteered to perform thus far, which is a concern. Erin Rosenthal will make and distribute flier and ticket sales information with the hope that most tickets will be pre-sold for $2 students, $4 adults, children 3 years and under, free.
*******Post note: since this meeting, the Faculty Follies event was postponed until spring due to a lack of ticket pre-sales and faculty/staff participation.
Tarynn Josey reported that Chick-fil-A, a business partner, could possibly provide calendars, biscuits, and a cow with a Santa hat for the Breakfast with Santa event and the Santa Shop. The committee gave its approval for further development.
Fran Cagle reported on plans made by the Red Ribbon Committee (October 9 – 13th). The committee gave its approval to cover expenses up to $60.00 for the purchase of Ty-vek bracelets.
October 16th will be the first PTO night, with the update beginning at 6:30 (including the Treasurer’s report) and the performance by the 2nd grade at 7:00. Family Night at the Book Fair will also be on this night, as well as a refreshment sale and t-shirt sale.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Frances B. Cagle
