Welcome to the BEST Classroom at Hannan!    Hello and welcome to Mrs. Best's online update to what going on in the classroom. Parents can find anything we are doing this week in the classroom located here on our website. I update at least once a week. You can find the stories we are reading and the spelling words for the week here as well. I will try to upload as many pictures from our science experiments and our social studies activities as I can. Please do not hesitate to email me if you cannot find something or you need some questions answered.

We have started a brand new year and I know how hard all of the children are working. Parents please be aware of your child's strengths and struggles in the classroom. My door is always open to anyone who wishes to drop by. Parents please help your child as much as you can at home. I have found that it makes it easier to tackle complex problems from both sides! I am doing my best and I know your child is doing theirs! Mrs. Best

 
Reading Story this Week... 
 
Science
This week in science we are learning about the changes that happen in matter when it transforms from one state to another.		   Social Studies
In social studies we are finishing up our review of the GA rivers and starting on the five main regions of GA.
 
Homework
  • Monday: The children take their spelling words and transfer them to flash cards. They will also be taking home basic math skill cards for them to complete.
  • Tuesday: The students will be completing a phonics based break-block with their spelling words.They will also be taking home basic math skill cards for them to complete.
  • Wednesday: (word scramble) The students will be taking their spelling words and pulling hidden words from within them making new words.They will also be taking home basic math skill cards for them to complete.
  • Thursday: Study for your spelling test the next day. They will also be taking home basic math skill cards for them to complete.
  • Friday: NONE!!!!!

  • August 25-31st: Book Fair!!
  • August 31st: PTA

    Mathematics
    We are working with number sense, graphing, and soon moving into place value and addition. Parents watch for those homework flash cards, they help redefine basic skills that the students need everyday in class. We are starting out slow but before you know it we will be doing multiplication and so much more!!!
